I've been working in #videogames #localization for about a decade now.
I just got my first loca credit on Mobygames (think IMDB for video games) today - and I got it because I submitted the amended credit listing myself after some social media outrage made sure translators were added to the #Pentiment credits retroactively, at a point where the list had already been submitted to Moby and wouldn't normally get scraped again.The situation in the industry is slowly improving, but just recently I heard that whether you get listed as a translator for #BaldursGate3 depends entirely on which loca agency you worked for - some transmitted the full list of their freelancers, others just went with their CEO and full-time employees who likely didn't write a single line while the people who translated millions of words over the last four years went unknown. And yes, of course it's the same agency that didn't give credit for #Diablo4 either: #Altagram.
