My prize for finishing all ten quilts on my #AllSummerLongArm punchcard arrived!
Still have to bind all those quilts so I don’t yet have time to read it 😂 but I’m excited
-
Bought the pattern on the left because I've really been wanting to do a corvid quilt. But somehow it morphed into the quilt design on the right. I don't know when or if I'll make either now, but it felt good to design something in the middle of #AllSummerLongArm
Funny Crows is available here:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/1727887093The other crows are based on Sew Fresh Quilts' Black Birds, (though I graphed the skulls myself):

#8 is done and punched, but with all the thread and backing problems this one had, I do feel behind now
On the plus side, backings for 9 and 10 are pieced so I’m ready to go with those - maybe I’ll catch back up
-
Still not sure what my reward will be for punching all the pincushions on my #AllSummerLongArm punchcard, but I think I have a winner for when I complete the #NoLongerInABind punchcard. I don’t even like candles, but this one comes in clean cotton scent 😂

I quilted 7 quilt tops in one month!
A small part of me hoped for 5 in June, most of me expected 4, and yet I finished 7!!!
(Now watch me not even get 3 in July 😂)

🎶 Oh, we're halfway there
Oh-oh, quiltin' on a prayer 🎶 -
Look what just arrived!
Ordered this Corazon pattern from @AnLiNaDesigns because 1) it's gorgeous and 2) I don't do a lot of multimedia type work and I thought this would be a fun project to start learning with.
Probably won't get to it until after #AllSummerLongArm but I can't wait!

I’m at four punches for #AllSummerLongArm (bonus pic of my growing pile of quilts that need binding)
-
Third quilt quilted
I’m taking the afternoon off to figure out which to do next, either Team Orca or Mary Anning
or 🦕

The centering trick is working. Mostly. I’m about 1/8 inch off in some places, but that’s close enough. Not like this quilt is going to be entered in any juried shows
Designed this quilt in 2017, made it in September 2022 (it was one of the last tops I made before joining Mastodon) and am finally quilting it. At least it’ll be done before celebrating it’s 10 year anniversary
-
Tracing panto patterns for my next #AllSummerLongArm quilt. Don’t normally do a design this curvy but figure my Gävelbocken quilt needs 🔥 to really get it right
-
First quilt on - and off - the longarm this #AllSummerLongArm season is my quilt coat
First punch on the punchcard too
-
Did make punch cards to help keep me motivated over the summer, though I still don't know what the rewards are going to be
These are 200% the size of normal punch card so 🤞🏻 I won't misplace them over the next 3 months

RE: https://mastodon.art/@inarticulatequilter/116644796712499068
Hoping if I figure out the right incentive, this will make me a little more excited for #AllSummerLongArm. The May gray weather, that’s soon going to be June gloom, sure isn’t making it feel like summer around here. Everything is just so blah 😕
-
Last year I had a boring old check list for all the quilts I planned to finish during #AllSummerLongArm but this year I’m thinking of a punch card - just have to decide what the reward will be if I get 10 quilts ‘punched’ 🤔
-
Bought three backing fabrics in preparation for #AllSummerLongArm… tho the quilt that the Sweary Stitching back is for isn’t even made and I’m not sure my May to-dos will be done in time to start June 1 🤷♀️

Update: Donated to JVP
Last of my #AllSummerLongArm quilts; today I hope to start piecing new projects again
This quilt is on the smaller side and is available (though it's not washable so it would be better for a display piece than a cuddle quilt.) If you are interested, let me know - it's free, but US only please
PIECED FOR PEACE
Completed: August 2025
Design: Original Improv
Quilting: Triangle Tangle Pantograph
Size: 54” x 54” -
Update: found a home!
Although #AllSummerLongArm is technically over, I still have 2 quilts to post
This quilt is looking for a forever home! If a big, warm, fun quilt like this appeals to you, DM me-been quilting for 25 years, have too many to use myself, and I'd love this one to go to a trans person or ally, maybe in tech?, who would appreciate it 🏳️⚧️
ROBOTS VS BINARIES
Completed: August 2025
Design: Elizabeth Hartman Robots
Quilting: E2E Chevron
Size: 82" x 85” -
As I near the end of this year’s #AllSummerLongArm (only three quilts left to bind!) I fear I’ve once again learned nothing - the # of quilts I want to make is now bigger than the # of quilts I finished
-
CW: The Last #AllSummerLongArm Stitch Counter for 2025
Quilt #12 - 28,622 stitches
June - 325,390 stitches
July - 315,588 stitches#AllSummerLongArm - 640,978 stitches
And that's a wrap for #AllSummerLongArm 2025! Now I'm moving on to binding, and because of a quirk of smaller projects and what I had partially finished before the summer began, I have 15 items to finish and photo in August. One every two days is doable, right? 😬
-
CW: #AllSummerLongArm Stitch Counter
Quilt #11 - 43,039 stitches
June - 325,390 stitches
July - 286,966 stitches#AllSummerLongArm - 612,356 stitches
I am so close to getting all the quilts done that I hoped to get done this summer 💃💃💃
-
CW: #AllSummerLongArm Stitch Tracker
Quilt #10 - 53,688 stitches
June - 325,390 stitches
July - 243,927 stitches#AllSummerLongArm - 569,317 stitches
Particularly amusing to me that this quilt, #10, was my giant mint chocolate ice cream cone quilt and I finished the quilting on for it on National Ice Cream Day
Particularly annoying to me that there is no ice cream in the house to enjoy in celebration
-
If it all works out (and it's looking good,) I'll finish 14 total quilts during #AllSummerLongArm 2025
I have added 13 new quilt ideas to my to-do list
14 >13
I am calling this progress
-
CW: #AllSummerLongArm Stitch Counter
Quilt #9 - 128,031 stitches
June - 325,390 stitches
July - 190,239 stitches#AllSummerLongArm - 515,629 stitches
Turns out, stitching lines 1/4" apart to simulate wood grain results in a *LOT* more stitches than you'd expect (but it sure goes fast when you're winging it!)
-
I am a longarm quilter that prefers to use rulers. All 8 quilts I’ve done so far this #AllSummerLongArm have been ruler based
But, for this 9th one, I’m free quilting wood grain — and it’s the quilting equivalent of getting to be naked 24-7 while your roommate is away
Wheeeeeee!
-
CW: #AllSummerLongArm Stitch Tracker
Quilt #8 - 42,620 stitches
June - 325,390 stitches
July - 62,208 stitches#AllSummerLongArm - 387,598 stitches
While waiting for the thread I needed, I did get binding on the previous 7 quilts, so, while July isn't looking quite as productive longarm-wise, I still got stuff done
-
CW: #AllSummerLongArm Stitch Tracker
Quilt #7 - 19,588 stitches
June - 325,390 stitches
July - 19,588 stitches#AllSummerLongArm - 344,978 stitches
Seven! The growing pile of finished quilts is starting to make me wonder when I need to stop the longarm and switch to binding. I don't think I'm there yet, but I am starting to think about next steps
-
CW: #AllSummerLongArm Stitch Tracker
Quilt #6 - 47,668 stitches
June - 325,390 stitches
#AllSummerLongArm - 325,390 stitches
Quilting six quilt tops in one month is, I'm pretty sure, a new record for me
-
CW: #AllSummerLongArm Stitch Tracker
Quilt #5 - 53,557 stitches
June - 277,722 stitches
#AllSummerLongArm - 277,722 stitches
That wonky pantograph is so easy and so much fun that I finished Quilt #5 two days earlier than expected. Still hoping to get Quilt #6 in before the end of the month but it really feels doable
-
Last of my finished quilts for summer 2024. I did hope to get more tops on the longarm before fall, but I want (need?) to get back to piecing
NOTION TO SEW
Completed: 2024
Pattern: Original Design / Half Hexie Blocks & Pieced Words
Size: 80" x 80" -
Another #AllSummerLongArm quilt finish - talking with San Diego's The Center staff about donating it to a LGBTQ+ client moving into supportive housing 🤞 this would be my third donation quilt this year
QUEER WAS ALWAYS HERE
Completed: 2024
Design: Original Design
Quilting: Elongated Chevron
Size: 68.5” x 80” -
I was actually thinking of making a word quilt that explored my decision to be childless by choice a couple of weeks before the Vance bullshit, but not surprisingly the idea became a bit more urgent recently
So, looks like #AllSummerLongArm is pausing at 6 quilts quilted and I’m making a new quilt top to get some of those feelings out instead
-
It’s silly but the moment when the quilt top no longer touches the floor is always a thrill for me — I’m this much 🤏🏻 away on quilt #5 for #AllSummerLongArm
-
Not sure if I’m going to be able to stick with #AllSummerLongArm for the whole season this year, but it’s June 1 and I have a quilt top on the machine so at least it’s a start
