IncidentRelay месяц спустя: от маршрутизации алертов к полноценному on-call workflow

Чуть больше месяца назад я впервые рассказал об IncidentRelay, open-source и self-hosted системе для дежурств, маршрутизации алертов и эскалаций. В первой версии основная цепочка уже работала: Monitoring -> Route -> On-call -> Notification -> ACK / Resolve С тех пор проект добрался до v1.0.21-beta . Цепочка стала длиннее, но пользоваться системой стало проще. В отличие от некоторых корпоративных процессов, здесь усложнение действительно пошло на пользу. Не буду пересказывать весь changelog. Расскажу о нескольких изменениях, которые сильнее всего повлияли на продукт.

На протяжении всего моего опыта работы DevOps-инженером, я всегда терпеть не мог мониторинг, алерты и всё что с этим связано. Мало того, что я не любил всё это настраивать, но больше всего я ненавидел получать и резолвить алерты. Pusk — self-hosted сервер алертов на 16 МБ. Один бинарник, без внешних сервисов, частично совместим с Telegram Bot API (13 методов из 80+). Типичная ситуация: несколько серверов, Zabbix собирает метрики, Python‑боты шлют алерты в Telegram. У кого‑то это веб‑проект, у кого‑то видеонаблюдение, у кого‑то живые эфиры, где 2 минут без алерта = зрители видят чёрный экран. Работало годами. А потом канал до API отвалился. Причина неважна — лимиты, блокировки, авария на стороне провайдера. Алерты встали. Нужен был свой канал доставки, который не зависит от внешних сервисов. Покатились →

Helt specifikt var det HAProxy på UDMPro'en der ikke var startet efter automatisk opdatering, da /run/haproxy ikke længere eksisterede. Det er sådan noget der skal få alarmklokkerne til at bimle.

Det bliver nok noget med #AlertManager og en HTTP-baseret blackbox probe.

Welp.. solved the issue with #grafana and #alertmanager
Seems like the top level route in an alertmanagerconfiguration needs an matcher that check if the alert should be routed towards the child-routes of the configuration. If non are present grafana just sends the alerts towards the configuration and all existing children.
This is kinda unexpected but works now.

Does someone now a trick for #grafana in regard of notification policies? I'm currently receiving on all configured alertmanager endpoints an alert from grafana. This is due to a grep all https://github.com/grafana/grafana/issues/47553

kinda feels bad by design imho but anyway..

I want to keep the endpoint configuration in #alertmanager and not in grafana so each user can define it's own labels on which alertmanager should act.

Does somebody maybe know how to solve this?

Today, trying to get the k3s cluster back to a working and smooth sailing state...

It has been somewhat unstable since the moving, and with little time to take care of it, outages were around every corner

Turns out, CNPG wasn't clearing out WAL on local replicas, inflating local disk usage, making them unavailable for scheduling...

Now that I understand why everything goes down, it is time to setup ntfy and link with with alertmanager+prometheus to get proper insights on the cluster in realtime

Now, back to rebuilding all Longhorn volumes because of those random outages *sight*

But underlining the importance of having good backups ! Because no data was lost, despite random downtimes
