OH on the tubes: “… it’s difficult, because the social networks that work are large and work because they’re centralized. Like, I’m a delighted user of the Mastodon social network, but it’s got nobody on it and the all the people who are on it are people who have opinions on Linux distros.”

So, if this is so awesomely super super powerful why are those AI things still NOT on the stock market? 🤔
-
I see that the GPU I bought had a price increase. July was silent, but they are running out of stock nowadays perhaps. The prediction was that it will only get worse.

No wonder Sammy is selling keyboards now 🤔

Chip forecast is worse than the current weather :’(
“ How long will this memory shortage last?
At least until 2028—and meaningful relief may not arrive until 2030.
In our baseline scenario, tightness emerges at leading-edge and mainstream DDR5 and HBM by 2026 and becomes worse in 2027” -
Artificial Idiot is a twist in this search 🤔

I keep seeing AI girls falling asleep, usually with mini-skirts and on a train. Apparently that is considered sexy or something in some part of the world.

Looked at the M.2 SSD prices. Something I bought last year seems to have a 185% price hike. However, I also realized that I can cannibalize another device instead of buying something inferior still at a ridiculous price.

The mass layoffs were in the news recently and still is, apparently to a certain level. Oooh AI is taking away the jobs or something. There was a comment on YT a while ago on that, it is just business as usual but the people doing the layoffs are happy to use AI as a shield. It’s just an excuse.

Checking out the #DDR5 prices. It looks like 1GB sticks would have a good p/p, except that such things don’t exist 🤔

"'Small modular reactor' currently means small expectations and modular delays"

Commander Cody. The time has come homie.

Finally seen the #DLSS5 announcement after watching/listening to hour long discussions around it. It looks like I’ve seen the whole thing already as it is very short. Interesting, but I wouldn’t say amazing. Could be more useful with ancient games.

Two recent interactions with Amazon CS:
Broken glasses due to bad packaging, the nonsense tells me to ship it back. Why? Waste about 20mins to reach a real hoomahn, passing through their retarted automation first and they ask for a photo, refunded and dumped the junk into trash.
Today: no refund for somethnig they’ve never delivered for about two weeks. Damaged and returned back to them. Again pass through their dumbass automation to reach a hoomahn and immediate refund.
