In 1945, #vonNeumann proposed the bus-based #computer #architecture, an advanced #Turing Machine, as it were.
In 1977, #Backus, the father of the first high-level language, FORTRAN, advocated abandoning the "von Neumann bottleneck" and adopting the architecture that is aligned with the FP model.
In 2025, the world is still squeezing itself through the von Neumann bottleneck, still using PP+OO von Neumann languages.
In computing, most things are perennial, but some things are perpetual, for good or ill.

Yet again, we might be slipping further away from open computing, when html was text and people had control over how their computers interpret it and what code they run.
This would strip users of the right to protect themselves against malicious actors, exploits, #advertisement and #trackers.
A democratic state is supposed to protect its citizens. The outcome of this lawsuit could be an atrocity.

Confesso che non ho mai trovato un approccio alla materia che io definirei così "costruttivo".
