CS-Lab has released a firmware update for its in-house 68060-based Warp accelerator boards. This is explicitly just a release candidate of version 2.025 for now; users are strongly advised to back up their operating system beforehand.
In addition to bug fixes, the new features include for example support for the Warp 7060, overheating protection and the ability to set the clock via P96 settings.

I just finished writing a paper about crystalline beams where the bunch heats at a rate of 0.529K/s. I also tweaked a parameter slightly, ran a simulation over the weekend and got one that heats at only 0.272K/s. Too late to change the paper now (I'd have to re-plot everything else!) Also, these simulations of 5500 turns in the #accelerator take 65 hours each, so not easy to scan parameters around to find the perfect spot.

The animation below shows the sizes of six different energy beams as they are matched from the linac to the arc section: the same set of magnets has to make all six the correct size at once! This was a difficult optimisation problem. #physics

Recently, a cryo bypass line was lowered into the tunnel and positioned in place.
❄️ This special component is part of the cooling system that brings the superconducting accelerator down to –269°C and was delivered by our Polish in-kind partner Jagiellonian University.
The installation work at FAIR keeps moving forward – powered by strong dedication and close collaboration with the international teams.

Support an Island Creator: Crowdfunding Launched to Fund Orkney Developer’s SGDA Accelerator Travel
The Scottish Games Network is calling on the community to support a unique crowdfunding campaign forAdam Clarke, an Orkney-based game developer who has secured a place in the Scottish Games Developers Association (SGDA) Accelerator Programme.
While earning a spot in the prestigious accelerator is a huge win for the developer and a testament to the talent emerging from all across Scotland, the high and often prohibitive cost of travel and accommodation from Orkney has created an unexpected financial barrier to Adam’s participation.
The developer, whose project was selected against stiff competition, is now seeking support from the wider industry to cover the essential logistical costs required to attend the in-person sessions of the accelerator.
Bridging the Geographic Gap
This situation underscores a recurring challenge in the Scottish creative sector: ensuring that national opportunities are truly accessible to talent outside of the central belt. If Scotland’s games ecosystem is to be truly national – a key pillar of the Games Action Plan – it must actively support creators from all regions.
The SGDA Accelerator is designed to provide intense mentorship and resources for business growth. Losing a highly talented participant simply due to geography would be a significant loss for the entire cohort.
