Apparently there's a big health care announcement from the Alberta government today in Airdrie. The President of Covenant Health will be there so my guess is either they're handing more health care facilities over to Covenant Health or going to build a new Covenant Health facility.

In other words continuing the dismantlement of AHS and the support of the Catholic hospitals.

It describes the situation my father is in after waiting around 24 hours to see a doctor in the ER and how he's now an EIP (Emergency In-Patient) because they can't release him but there are no beds to admit him to.

I need an MRI which I may be able to get in four to five months through public health... or I can pay privately and get one in a week.

The perturbing thing is that it's at the same facility either way, so it's not a matter of capacity, but funding. 😕
