  17. This is a concept I've always been fascinated by - the small world theory. Six degrees of separation, or fewer, between any two people you can think of. Seems highly improbable, but as Steve Strogatz puts it - "The math begs the question, not of "how is it possible that the world is that small" but, "how could it be otherwsie?"
