  1. #C41 #FilmPhotography #AnalogPhotography #BelieveInFilm Well, maybe not - first scan just came through and I reversed it (need to take out dust specks, etc.) and it's...not bad. Actually pretty much the exposure I was looking for when I took these.

Still have the stupid purple line my scanner makes - I've cleaned it over and over again. Definitely saving up for an #Easy120.

  2. Sometimes the smallest detail can help set the date of a slide. Here's a TV guide on the floor of the Coleman's living room.

And there's a TV cover art archive: tvguidemagazine.com/archive/su

  3. These are the McVeys. They are looking at slides (see the slide viewer on the table?) There's also a dog named McVey in this collection of medium format slides. Was the dog named after the couple or just an awkward coincidence? #SlideScanning #120MediumFormat #VintagePhotography #1968 #BattleCreek #Michigan

  4. And last but not least #Kentmere400 #120MediumFormat pushed 2 stops. These were the best two shots of the 15 6x9 negatives I had. There were a few more that were slightly promising, but they were definitely a full tier below these.

  5. 1 #35mm roll #Kentmere400 pushed one stop, 2 #120MediumFormat rolls Kentmere 400 pushed two stops, and two 35mm rolls #Delta400 pushed two stops. All developed tonight in #XTOL.

Hope to be able to scan tomorrow after work…excited to see the results of my first #PushingFilm experiment.

  6. After a good bunch of hours of cleaning up the scans, I have another ten to add meta data to tomorrow. That's the last step: A description, keywords, and a location. The metadata stage takes a lot of research but I'm about midway through the Battle Creek slides so I already know most of the people and locations shown here. #SlideScanning #120MediumFormat #VintagePhotography #BattleCreek #Michigan

  7. Before and after color correction of a slide:

The slide is of David R. Coleman smoking a cigarette around Christmas in 1959. #SlideScanning #120MediumFormat #ColorCorrection #VintagePhotography

  8. Here's a distinctive house that I wish I knew it's location. It's labeled on the slide as "Thomasville, November 1966." Nothing else. The slides are part of a Battle Creek / Detroit Michigan collection. Do you recognize the house? Let me know.

  9. Wait, there's another gray dog? Who is this dog? Why isn't this dog also helpfully labeled? People in 2024 want to know!!!

  10. Genetics for the win here. I know he's Reid Coleman. She's listed as Wertman. Looks like she's his daughter. If that's the case, I can look up a Coleman-Wertman wedding and figure out who she is. #SlideScanning #120MediumFormat #VintagePhotography #Michigan #BattleCreek

  11. Here's one where I know the dog's name but not the woman's. The dog is Susie and she features in a bunch of the slides. The slide itself is labeled McVey. That could refer to the woman (probably) or to the house (the McVey's house). I don't know yet. #SlideScanning #120MediumFormat #VintagePhotography #1963 #Michigan

  12. More slide scanning gems. The woman in pink is Marie Billeter. The person is black might be a daughter. The one is the beige jacket might be a grand-daughter. The photo is from January 1963.

  13. Two of the women who posed at the beach stand here before a farm, probably near Battle Creek. This slide dates to 1955. #SlideScanning #120MediumFormat #BattleCreek #Michigan #VintagePhotography
