  7. Incredibly useful heat recovery information in here!
    TLDR:
-To cool down body, apply coolness to palms, soles of feet, forehead. (Fascinating physiological reason)
-Not too cold or blood vessels will constrict and slow blood flow (not ice)
-Not cool towel on back of neck because it will fool a sensor there into thinking body is already cooled off

  8. This pink rhody will be gorgeous for less than a week due to the #PNWHeatWave. The deadheading will hit all at once this year.

    Hopefully the terrifying combination of
    1) drought
    2) midsummer
    4) hot wind out of the East
    3) heat dome centered right over #Oregon
won’t come to pass. If it does, guess we’ll need to switch to olives and figs.

  20. Huge canes of #invasive #blackberry growing in the trunk of a decrepit Oregon ash. It got this bad because the decades-old, impenetrable #bramble was finally brushhogged last summer.

All cleaned up now. The #EmeraldAshBorer was found in Oregon last year, so who knows what is in store for the ash trees.
