This always makes me well-up and teary (even today) so I'll toot it. If you're LGBTQ+, in the closet or simply struggling to be yourself fully, this may help you as it did me
I'm well over 50 now as I transition. As all my #trans sisters know, it's not easy, but being *real* is priceless. Coming here as part of the #TwitterMigration I feel #FreeToBeMe
It was sent by a close friend pre-transitioning. If you really like it, more importantly if it can help others please boost it 💜

We were thrilled to be featured on last week's #Nationwide, as we count down to the Late Late Toy Show!
Thanks to your support of the 2021 #ToyShowAppeal, we're gifting 50 schools across Ireland with a #FreeToBeMe Little Library. These Little Libraries are made up of 100 new books that celebrate diverse & inclusive titles, helping children to see their own story in the books they read.

Its #FollowbackFriday - which seems a very apt time to announce I am unpacking at at a new instance, mastodon.world, where I am @Free2BMe.
Again I would like to thank vanlife.is and @axelrafn very much for being so supportive and friendly. Yet whilst I regret the impending closure of this site, I also know every season has an ending - forcing us not to stay put, but to go out and have of new adventures, find of fresh delights...

@eclectech - oh what fun! How well the hat fits. How opportune the artful posing of his extended foot was, just the right distance for the broom to fit in front of the other feet held back!
Happy Hallowe`en to everyone amongst us. And let those broomsticks fly..... -
@eclectech - as you did such a lovely job with Master Nipper`s black and white cow themed hat in the summer, lets go Hallowe`ening.....
-
@retroist - delighted that someone else who was there at the start still shines the torch in a cross-wise patterning.
That ad`s pretty neat too - I`m guessing American TV Guide ?
Actually I`m not sure I ought to be celebrating the American premiere at all - over here in England we had to wait for over a year to see that episode - unless we knew someone with a sky-box to pester, because they got it a bit earlier, on January 26, 1994.
-
So here I am, lighting my torch, metaphorically, and physically, for the thirty-second time, with a little reminder everyone that tonight in 1993, at 9 p.m. (but only in the USA) the first ever episode of The X Files was shown on television.
And hi to everyone "out there" who`s going to watch that episode, oddly just entitled "Pilot", all over again, tonight.
Its always worth doing, too......

Ruislip Station, just passing through.
This signal box has actually been a listed building since August 2000, so it is celebrating a quarter century this very month - however the station was built way earlier, in 1904, for the Harrow and Uxbridge Railway.
That was taken over by the Metropolitan Railway less than a year later, and their trains still stop there, along with the Piccadilly line.
Both terminate in Uxbridge.

Suddenly it is "that" season.
I go out looking completely normal - or normal for me. anyway - yet, on the way back, my fingers are become reddened in response to a host of wanton, beckoning berries. Stray pips, or not yet ripened red cells, throb annoyingly from the spaces they have discovered, and slid inside between my teeth. And also, because the best berries are always nearest to the sharpest thorns, my fingers, too, are tingling

- save the humming of the bees.
I only found out a few nights ago that moths like these too, as I walked down the path and they all fluttered away before me.
I knew that the globes grow and then reach a point where they become irresistible to flies, and then their casing start to grow blue hair/flowers. which sees the flies ousted and the bees and wasps flock in.
But I never knew of their mothly magnetism.....#garden #gardening #echinops #bees #pollen #BeeFriendly #ProEarth

In the too long time since I tapped my last message and sent it into the ethereal realm, things have changed. I have been diagnosed with a vitamin D disorder, and must take tablets and supplements for the rest of my time here on this planet. I also must change my diet to include red meat, eggs, fish. I object to the two former, valueing their lives far above mine own, but I did add a tin of sustainable tuna chunks to my larder yesterday...and may open it tonight

Sunrise over Salisbury.
With very steamy windows.
It was just too cold to stay in my tent last night and I decided to "de-camp" into the back of my car.Edited for size alone, as always

I return.
Mooning.
I like this one very much and hope you do too.
It was taken recent-ish too, on October 29th, just in case you wondered. -
To celebrate my two year anniversary here is one of my favourite photos from the last two months.
All my photos are taken on my phone, and I do not edit them, except, perhaps, on the odd occasion, for size. I do not use filters or make them brighter, darker, or more colourful.
And, mostly, I look for angles and lines, particularly on the diagonal.
All comments welcome.

Many thanks for every one of you who have encouraged me to not give up on the possibility of pedalling pleasure.
I have been inspired enough to hunt online - and discovered that our local council actually ran free courses for adult beginners - however they have had to stop because there was too much demand. You can add your name to a waiting list, and, I guess, wait. However it does not say how long for. And the word "stop" seems pretty final. -
First picture, at last! Taken whilst dog walking, not so easy to take a photo under those conditions, the slightest spotting of another dog means that you have to lose hold on the picture so as to retain hold on your dog - then they find magical scents to follow, whilst your picture slips ever further from the frame. However challenges are also adventures, and they prove that nothing is ever really impossible, it just needs working out.

I thought the fediverse would be completely covered with this, but it looks like it is only me, about to sit down to watch the pilot, on September 10th, all over again....
Or is there anyone else "out there" with their DVDs ?
If there is, you may enjoy seeing this original promo card from 1995. Now this was P2, but it was the first one to advertise the cards. P1 only spoke of the comics.

Day 17, Prime NumberDay 17, photographed on day 17. Slow uploading because I had no idea what a prime number was, and when I looked it up I was none the wiser, but needed to lie down in a dark room to recover. The only thing I remember is that 11 is the controversial one, with much debate over whether it is a prime number or a composite. And I do like the rebels of any galaxy. But just in case I also present 2, 3, 5, 7 and 11

Fifty years ago today David Bowie killed Ziggy Stardust live on stage at the Hammersmith Odeon.
At the time fans thought he was retiring entirely.
Luckily this was not the case and he continued to push boundaries for many years, continually renewing his earthly frame - as well as bringing inspiration, and pleasure, to lots of little children, like me, who were not of the worlds they were currently inhabiting, and who dreamed of being free -
They found it, quite by accident, whilst digging, heard a light pop, hardly audible. They bent down and extracted it, gently, then wondered, idly, why someone had denied themselves their dinner, whatever was inside. Hard to tell without a label.
Inside the canister the crew sat, waiting, a murmur rising. They could see the alien world through the hole the monster made, and once it went away they could explore, at last
