I think Herbert mentions how Leto’s father died fighting a bull, but that’s about it, unless that comes up in books after the first. I need to read Messiah, which is conveniently next on the list after #InfiniteDetail.

I’m not really talking about the challenging. That’s just like duels and having stand-ins so the nobles express discontent while killing other people instead of themselves. It’s more how both houses have ways of proving the butch manliness of their leaders in front of the masses - the #Atreides kill bulls, the #Harkonnens kill captives. Even if the other houses have versions of that, there’s a very specific resemblance between Atreides and Harkonnen.

IMHO when it comes to the #ClimateEmergency - It is not hopeless & we, the people are not helpless!
It’s up to us – WE,THE PEOPLE to save planet Earth by becoming #ClimateConsumers who actively mitigate global warming by our daily choices of who we donate to, vote for, invest/divest/bank in; what we buy, eat, drive/pedal; to degasifying & electrifying everything, reduce, reuse, recycle & limit our overconsumption. https://news.climate.columbia.edu/2018/12/27/35-ways-reduce-carbon-footprint/

I am certain there is a valid explanation for the inital #drone sightings, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of it was genuinely malicious and genuinely warranted the concern
But we're well past that into #masshysteria "evil spirit drones are everywhere!!!" WHARGARBBBLL...
