  1. @MardraS hi! Do you have a favorite DS organization, or do you know of any to avoid?
Our family is ordering shirts from bonfire.com/store/dsdn/ for #worldDownSyndromeDay but it just occurred to me to reach out and see if you know of any good or better ones :)

  2. @MardraS

I 'comfort read' too! Currently Elizabeth Moon's Vatta space opera series. Come to think, all my comfort reads are future space opera themed. Except for Wind in the Willows.

Might I suggest an edit? Add #ComfortReads
Maybe we'll pick up some new ideas.

  8. @IntentionallyBLANK @MardraS @LaNaehForaday. All of this is very true. In the spirit of support, I'd like to recommend #DashaKiper's Travelers to Unimaginable Lands: Stories of Dementia, the Caregiver, and the Human Brain. It's about how very hard #caregiving is, especially in the context of #Alzheimer's. It is available as an #audiobook if time for reading is scarce.

  9. #Fensterfreitag

As usual, I was somewhere lovely for work, so I enjoyed the view as opposed to enjoying the beach.

  14. Thursday AM and
    1) short text chat with old friend.
    2) This new coffee cup from my step- mother; She may be starting to “get” me.
    3) My untenable rage at a work issue this morning, dissolved in resolution. Let’s hope we can get the next mountain crossed.

  16. Another “comfort read” - it wasn’t profound, but the language is fun and the story engaging.

“She seemed the type of girl who could make a fortune breaking hearts if she didn’t enjoy it so much that she did it for nothing.
The coroner, conversely, looked almost nothing like that at all.”

    — The Tale of the Tenpenny Tontine (Anty Boisjoly Mysteries Book 3) by @PJFitzsimmons #SundaySentence

  17. I’ve started (re)reading Douglas Adams’ *Long Dark Teatime of the Soul* for the upteenth time.
    It’s a comfort read.

“…he realized without a shadow of a doubt that his fridge had now begun seriously to lurk.”

  19. @geno first off, thanks for asking! I heartily endorse the DSDN for their specialized help in providing information and support, particularly at or near diagnosis. And they do a good job with helping others advocate through awareness.

The Global Down Syndrome Foundation gets my support as the most accountable and active legislative and medical research/support for people with Down syndrome of all ages.

#WDSD is right around the corner again! Go Team!

  26. Ok. One more. (because the hashtag tracker has moved on). I had a lovely, celebratory dinner with my son and husband. 3-21 is #WorldDownSyndromeDay we were supposed to go to a party with other #T21 peeps, but work delayed me. So we just went out ourselves. Marcus and I had some wine and we made jokes. (And ate kind of a lot, and also have leftovers.) ANYway, hug those you love. Reminder: the universe created #DownSyndrome to offset all the boring people. #wouldntchangeathing #TheLuckyFew
