Sequoia National Park. Once again, I didn’t realize something was on my bucket list until I did it. The trees were utterly staggering and I ended up having to take a little moment with General Sherman and some of these other massive trees. What an amazing place!

Tackled what turned out to be a really really tough climb today on the local #BoulderCO trails today. I don't often take pictures of the bike leaning against stuff (BLAS), but having made it up grades as steep as 18%, I figured a little celebration was in order.

Does anyone have experience adding additional hand positions to flat #mountainbike bars? I find that my hands start to go numb after a few hours of easy riding (dirt roads or pavement) and it would be nice to have other options.
Apparently people are putting bar ends in-board of their grips now? Seems like a reasonable solution.

Sounds like recent weather changes have made snow completely isothermic (unsafe), river crossings impassible, and evacuation routes inaccessible. Racers were told to go home.
Hopefully more information to come but my heart goes out to the several people I know personally (and hundreds I don’t) who trained so hard all year for this event.

Somehow, I’d never appreciated what a Big Freakin’ Deal Mesa Verde NP is in the grand scheme of things. It was wonderful to get a taste of it today. I can’t wait to go back and explore a bit more (maybe some time when it’s less hot though).

One of the coolest traditions of #Boulder 's #Troop 78 is the "Bridging Ceremony". The just-joined first year #Scouts (Newts!) are off doing their thing while the whole rest of the troop builds a huge bridge from poles and ropes. The newts cross over to officially join the troop. Engineering quality varies from year to year, but nobody ever falls all the way off.
