CW: Tour de Suisse
Felix Gall is having a rather impressive 2023! That was a very impressive stage win today at the Tour de Suisse, and he also looked very good on stage 3 as well along with Skjelmose.
Add his performances this week to Ben O'Connor's ride at the Dauphine last week and AG2R are starting to look like a serious GC challenger.

#Zonhoven round of the #CXWorldCup didn't disappoint today. Van Anrooij and Van Aert have both been absolutely flying over the holiday periods, especially in the sand those two have just bossed the fields.
Few mistakes from Fem, Puck & Van der Poel cost them their respective races, though Van der Poel's head really went down after his while Fem fought back really well.
The battle for 4th in the women's race was fantastic as well.

Caught the last 60 minutes or so off the Arsenal vs Wolfsburg #WomensChampionsLeague semi final. Dramatic finish with Wolfsburg scoring late in the second half of extra time when it looked like going to penalties.
Jule Brand made a massive difference when she came on for Wolfsburg, perhaps it was partly down to fresh legs but looked like she was playing on an entirely different level to everyone else on the pitch.

CW: Caught up with Dwars door Vlaanderen
Gutted for Lazkano & Kristoff in the mens race, Lazkano especially after having been out in the break all day, and still had the energy to even attempt chasing Laporte.
Womens race was just non stop fireworks from about 70km to go! SD Worx with a show of strength again with Reusser looking like another long range break might work, but then Vollering sealed the deal.

Mens race was a bit dull with Pog having to abandon early on as Remco really had no challenge, and maybe it's just a personal thing but I don't find Remco' very exciting.
Shoutout to Ben Healy who has had a fantastic few weeks.
Demi Vollering though has been the absolute queen of the Ardennes on the women's side. No dramatic long range attacks, but her and SD Worx just delivered a perfectly measured masterclass.

I was very confused for a few minutes thinking this was some strange collaboration or something or that I had somehow totally missed #Metallica announcing a new album, but nope, they just dropped a brand new track and announced a new album and release date out of the blue!
Add to that they have gone with a totally new sound as well which sounds like a pretty sweet mix of thrash and 80's heavy rock!

CW: RideLondon Classique - Stage 2 & 3
DSM womens team really do have the sprint leadout down to a fine art, not sure many of the mens teams have one as good.
Wouldn't have been surprised if Kool had cleaned up all 3 stages if she hadn't been in that late crash in stage 2, but it didn't look like it affected her to much for stage 3.
Dygert power might just have provided Canyon-SRAM with the missing ingredient they needed to get some wins.

CW: RideLondon Classique - Stage 1
Charlotte Kool could easily clean up all the stages, she looked very comfortable making it into the front group when the peloton started breaking up and she totally bossed the sprint.
Deignan looks like she's already getting back up to speed which could be very interesting later in the summer.
Opening stage marred by a few nasty crashes. Balsamo out with her left & right mandible & scaphoid fractured :(

#BVB didn't look very convincing for the first 60 minutes or so against Hertha, but some brilliance from Reus and Adeyemi got the lead, and after Reus's stunning freekick they really found the gear they had been missing.
Massive blow for Adeyemi to get injured how he did, though that assist for Malen while clutching his hamstring was outstanding. Hopefully he won't be out for long.
Malen looked like a player who rediscovered some confidence in himself.

Considering I was struggling with my knee for the last few weeks, getting back onto #Zwift for a couple of the Ride Scotland group rides have went very well. Did the Rolling Highlands route today and City and the Sgurr on Thursday and I was pleasantly surprised by how well I was going.
Now spending the rest of the evening watching the #Bundesliga Will have to walk the doggo and make dinner in the middle of the #BVBBSC match though, but is shaping up to be a big opportunity for #BVB today

#TrofeoAlfredoBinda was a far more exciting race than #MilanSanRemo Do yourself a favour and give it a watch.
The Trek women absolutely bossed that race with Shirin van Anrooij taking a stunning long distance solo win, it's far to say she has come out of the cyclocross season in good shape!
The chasing group just could get organised, and Trek had three riders sitting in that group shutting everything down and Balsamo won the sprint for 2nd with ease.

Chiara Consonni wrapping up this years Giro but taking a cracking sprint victory, she took that up early & had the power to hold everyone else off. Good way to sign off for her teammate Marta Bastianelli on her final race.
Crashes taking out a few riders made it a lot easier for AVV to take another Giro title, but it looks like it's setting up a real battle between her & Vollering at the Tour!

Blanka Vas really struggled during the cross season but in the last month or so she has definitely found her road legs. Stage win at the Tour de Suisse and now the Giro, as well as putting in some very strong performances as a domestique.
Draggy uphill finish for the women today, not dissimilar to the TDF sprint today. Vos went very early + had a mechanical? while Dygert likes taking all the wind so Vas took advantage of that

CW: Itzulia Women - Stage 3
A dramatic finish to what has been an entertaining 3 days in the Basque Country, but unfortantly the tv coverage today only started after the top of the final climb.
We got pictures with AVV & Vollering away on a very sketchy looking descent, but the effort clearly cost AVV and SD Worx played the Reusser card and no one could chase her while Vollering let her teammate take the stage & overall win.

CW: Itzulia Women - Stage 2
Slightly improved weather after yesterday.
Very exciting racing on the run into the finish with SD Worx launching attack after attack, but it was Niewiadoma who looked to have made one stick with an attack on the final climb that even had Vollering struggling.
Unfortunately for her Lippert tagging onto the back spoiled the break which let AVV & co back.
Vollering out sprinting the small group for another win

CW: Itzulia Women - Stage 1
Don't think it got mentioned on the commentary, but it sounds like there was a very scary incident earlier in the stage with a police car & ambulance getting onto the course going the wrong direction and crashing headon into a number of riders. Have to hope none of the riders got seriously injured, though they had to be taken to hospital.
