The new episode of Time Team that got released this evening on YouTube was fascinating. A two day rescue dig after finding another Anglo Saxon burial in the last hour of their previous Princely Burial episode with Operation Nightingale.
Helen and Jackie feel like they are really carrying the torch for the old Time Team crew as well.

Hadrian's Wall by Adrian Goldsworthy seems like a good starting point to get some reading in on the subject before my #hadrianswall trip later in the summer, and I've enjoyed his other histories that I've read.
And it unfortunately seems like a rather fitting time to read George Orwell's #1984GeorgeOrwell

Poking my head in here again.
Wondering if anyone has done the #hadrianswall path has any idea about how feasible a little side quest to Vindolanda would be? Booked a short walking trip for later in the year and I'll be stopping in Once Brewed between days, but that's at the end of a 20km day and start of a 15km day.

#BigGardenBirdWatch @RSPB done this morning in the calm after the storm. Plenty of birds in the garden, especially Chaffinches, but they were very nervous which made counting difficult. Having a Sparrow Hawk visit twice might explain it though 😂
Regular army of pheasants didn't show up, Long Tailed Tits which had been here earlier in the week didn't either. Very few Sparrows and Greenfinches that I could count, but did get a couple of Siskins.

Catching up with today's #cyclocross #X20badkamerstrofee from Lokeren now after getting myself totally cooked on stage 4 of the Tour of Watopia on #Zwift this morning.
I was on great form on Wednesday on the medium route and actually bumped my FTP up slightly with it, but this morning was just a sufferfest on the long route. Started great with a new PB on Hilly KOM without blowing the doors off, but the Titans Grove part of the route always seems to kill my legs.

No need to worry about trying to catch up with the #M05BVB match later this evening by the looks of it 🤦♂️Always very nice of #BVB to have such bad performances to give me some extra free time when I can't watch the match live because I'm busy...
Seriously though, the away form coupled with an Emre Can disasterclass and the injury list means I'm not surprised.

CW: Tour de France - stage 20
Never got caught up in all the Pinot excitement over the years, but it was definitely exciting to see him going on a breakaway bid for the stage today, but in pretty typical Pinot fashion he fell short in the end.
The Pog vs Jonas battle was a bit odd, though I think Pog played it very smart when he saw Jonas was still going to watch him like a hawk.
Felix Gall showing again that he is one of the best pure climbers.

CW: Tour de France - stage 20
Final proper stage off the Tour (maybe next year we will get a final stage that isn't just a parade since it's not in Paris) and the end of what has been a very exciting 3 weeks of racing! Unfortunately the GC battle got snuffed out at the start of week, but we still got some unexpectedly exciting racing from "sprint stages" this week.

CW: Tour de France - stage 18 & 19
Some people would almost make you think that breakaways never succeed anymore, but if you didn't think that was total rubbish beforehand I don't know how you could think it was the case after this TDF.
Defiant breakaway yesterday holding off the peloton with Asgreen saving Quicksteps Tour (Campenaerts needs thanks!) & today's stage looked total bonkers, but Mohoric, Asgreen & O'Connor just never stopped nailing it.

To be honest though? My overwhelming feeling is just disappointment for Pogi, it was hard watching how much he was suffering just on that final rise to the finish line :(
Any word on what happened? Has he just blown up? Or is he sick or something?
Vingegaard though has been incredible though, these last two days especially. The TT performance was outstanding, though it did remind me why I hate time trials lol

CW: Tour de France - Stage 17
First things first, what a brilliant win by Felix Gall & AG2R! Biggest mountain stage of the Tour and from a breakaway that wasn't given much of a leash by the GC group, that was impressive! Also great to see how happy Ben O'Connor was for him.
His TT yesterday wasn't bad, but if he can improve that and most importantly his descending he could be a real GC contender.
