It was pretty cool to see how the birding tour industry caters to people of different backgrounds, age, interest level, and budget. I went independently, but there are fully guided tours, bird-focused lodging arrangements, and many other options. Birding truly is for everyone, or it should be—I don’t recall seeing another Asian person for four days until I got back to Tucson airport. My motel had a Chinese restaurant though!

It seems like every egret in the area shows up when the mergansers chase the baitfish into the shallows. Time to eat good! #WorldWetlandsDay

I half-joked about participating today by doing a lazy and shoddy job at work, but I’m getting ready to file in Court to help someone establish a record of their birth so they can move forward with obtaining legal status. I’ve been going back and forth with CA DPH and it’s finally getting done, so I figure it’s in the spirit of today’s action to do the very best I can for this person. #fice
