Picked up Tamron 70-180 2.8. This is apparently the updated version of the original Nikon-branded Z 70-180 2.8. There’s a chance I’ll get a little closer to the cranes and since they’re so big I’ll need less reach and benefit from the constant 2.8 aperture vs 5.6 on the short end of the 180-600. Plus I keep telling myself I’ll do portraits and concerts. It’s good that the whole setup fits into this Lowepro bag too.

There’s an argument that spending thousands on photography gear and then just trusting the jpg or editing it on a phone is a waste. But the counter argument is I paid for all this shit so I’ll do what I want.

I shoot RAW and JPG but I have to admit that I almost never work on the RAW file. I don’t even really know how, and I forgot my login for the free Nikon software that lets you edit the NEF (RAW) files so I just gave up. I view and edit the JPG files in the Apple Photos app and that’s fine for me. It’s easier to see the photo, capture it, share it, and go look for the next one.
