  1. Stanford PhD student discovers AI will really mess up your brain:

“the people who talked to the agreeable Al came out of the conversation more convinced they were right, less willing to apologize, less likely to take responsibility, and measurably less interested in making things right with the other person.”

  6. It's 2026 and I feel like it's hard once again to find like minded people on the web, as if it were 1999.

  7. So basically, all your CI/CD tokens are compromised if you pulled the poisoned version of Tiledesk, and it infects some of your other repos via CI/CD, but it ends there unless your stolen tokens sits around and is used to gain access to other things. But other than that, it doesn't continue to propagate does it?

  12. Can someone clarify how the malware spread?

So it initially came from and anyone who pulled Tiledesk recently and caught the malware then caused it to spread further...?

I'm not entirely clear on how it spread to other repositories, but it seems tokens were stolen along the way. Is the trigger only when other people have a specific CI/CD workflow and push to main/master? A bunch of the infected repos don't have any other recent changes so I'm unclear on the spread.

  18. The crazy part of this is that we are working our way backwards from allowing AI to do too much and trying to figure out how to mitigate disasters, restraining it and have it behave more rationally, rather than the other way around — starting from a firm foundation and building one solid tier at a time.

  19. Man, AI is such as shit show. The industry has turned ML from a useful tool into a complete fucking circus of code roulette and I'm seeing old friends convinced learning how to wrestle with these Rube Goldberg machines to get it to do what you want is the way to work instead of just hiring humans. Depressing.
