Researching for blogging purposes and the Interwebs makes it sound like I'm the last on Earth to hear about The Gathering and this album specifically. The blog post won't be about this album, but I guess I have to listen to it now...

Hey Emma Ruth Rundle fans: Emma is releasing the Some Heavy Demos album on Bandcamp this Friday! It was previously limited vinyl-only but she's raising $ for her upcoming album. I had snagged it on vinyl and would recommend grabbing this, particularly if you need a good cry.

Going to test my pupper's patience with 2 hours 23 minutes of Keiji Haino and Boris live. Avi included the live album that came out of this show in her main discography list for Boris, but I could only find this YT with the bootlegged audio of the full show.

Another spoiler for an upcoming blog post. If I understand correctly, this was Greenland's first rap group, and this track is from their first single/maxi-CD. They rapped in Kalaallisut, Danish, and English.
Edit: I believe the woman singing in the video is Nukâka Coster-Waldau, sister of one of the rappers, she later became (and still is) an actor in Greenlandic and Danish film and TV.

Spoiler alert for the next blog post, but in writing up a Desire Marea album and learning about his FAKA performance art duo, I facepalmed myself about having missed that FAKA did this fantastic remix of the Fever Ray track, "Plunge". The original is instrumental, but here has vocals with lyrics in Zulu, with Marea's gorgeous falsetto as its centerpiece. :ablobjam:

Okay, finished Mark Lanegan's discography, now going to take a bit of a break from sad bastard music and am going to start working my way through Boris' main discography. I'll be following the fantastic list put together by @avi_miller as part of her upcoming larger project writing up each main Boris album. The list includes studio releases plus a few extra goodies (47 in total), and notes different and preferred versions. Let's go! 🤘🏻

The only thing getting me through today is how Fever Ray sings the line "We handle babies and breasts" in this new track from The Bride! movie.

Ooo this is quite nice. This one isn't listed anywhere on Mark Lanegan's discography page on Wikipedia for whatever reason, even though his other Dark Mark releases are. I've never heard of Not Waving before but since I otherwise dig Lanegan's more electronic-tinged albums, I should've been all over this back when it came out.
Not Waving & Dark Mark - Downwelling (2019)

@1001otheralbums.com Ohhhhh and another artist from The List is involved in the soundtrack for this Residente/Bad Bunny film! Not sure how much of the soundtrack she's part of, but Gyða Valtýsdóttir - Icelandic artist/composer and founding member of múm - posted on IG that she's involved in "creating the sonic pulse for this incredible project". :blobaww: Not familiar w/ Gyða?
