I love that LLMs put up with my formatting and spelling atrocities, silently groking intent. Humans have less patience for that level of communications.

Last post about my cookbook for a while.
This week I added some markdown texty diagrams and a test-kitchen mode, and tuned some of the finer points. I also published it, which I didn't think I would be able to do from this vacation-locked-down network.

I'm not sure how Claude does it, but in my workflow I screenshot visual bugs with an overlay, explain it, and it scans and finds it in seconds. This is on extremely slow internet. It feels fast enough to be local.

The copyright problems with training LLMs feels a bit like the sampling craze in the 1990s. Queen and David Bowie vs. Vanilla Ice, for example.
New tech → novel uses → no laws for fair use in that context → new laws are drafted.
At a human level, knowledge should be free. The way that LLMs represent knowledge isn't specific to the work. Yet, even given this, there is an ethical prickle when using published content. I'm sure we'll figure it out, but it's not the controversy what we make it out to be, it's just a step in the evolution of humankind.

Claude is getting good at measuring things in browsers. This replaces a lot of manual labour with tools like XScope and the browser inspector.
The whole process is similar to working with a human developer: log a bug with a screenshot, ask it to review and mock up a fix, then approve or adjust. It uses minimal tokens, too.

I'm very careful adding complexity to my process when using agents. It wasn't until recently that I started to train agents to cooperate between submodules. The trick, for me, is clear divisions and careful prevention of context growth. I'm also a cheap bastard, and try to keep my monthly costs to $20.
