@GIMP I use #KDE, so Skanlite was the logical choice. I also gave #XSane a try, but I prefer Skanlite’s clean, neatly integrated UI and don’t need the additional options XSane offers. And yes, it supports 16-bit per channel. Higher? I don't know.
