I have been struggling to fins some equilibrium after this horrific outflow of racism, and hate from #SKKKOTUS and the southern states. There is no place for racism in my life, in society, in science or in government. Those trying to revert back to Jim Crow are mentally ill, but cannot recognize their illness or the harm they are causing.
Since Hummingbird season is in full 'flight', I have been working on photos of hummingbirds for a few days, along with reviewing photos of happy places.

My thoughst - Now that SKKKOTUS cleared the way for states to fully embrace hatred, Tennessee took no time to show its true color. They need to change their flag from unity into a more accurate KKK flag, and should adopt white hoods in the legislature.

Two things stand out with which I agree;
‘But “Mothers’ Day”—with the apostrophe not in the singular spot, but in the plural—actually started in the 1870s, when the sheer enormity of the death caused by the Civil War and the Franco-Prussian War convinced writer and reformer Julia Ward Howe that women must take control of politics from the men who had permitted such carnage. Mothers’ Day was not designed to encourage people to be nice to their mothers. It was part of women’s effort to gain power to change society.“

A bit of reality. This administration, and “pundits” of the right-wing media spew a continuous barrage of tripe blaming former President Biden for everything and distorting his record without references. Fact Check provides a nice, well based analysis of his term with receipts and analysis. An interesting read.

Twenty days out from knee replacement on the right knee - a story of slow but steady progress with a few setbacks. Using a cane now, and working to increase strength and stamina. The biggest challenge has been emotional, watching my country die day-by-day at the hands of those who have betrayed their oath to the Constitution. That really hit hard with the unbelievable Voting Rights decision.
At the same time, grateful for family support, friends to have helped (unasked) with yard work, and the nursing - PT care given.
Slowly working on some challenging photos - this from Glacier National Park was a several hour project.
