@goose #guix was always meant to be a general purpose package manager from the get go. It did not start as a package manager for scheme code, suffered from an endless cycle of feature creep, and ended up being a Frankenstein's Monster project, if that is what you are asking.

Guile projects tend to use it because it is written in #guile. If you need a package manager for scheme code only, you can try Akku:

Today I bought an Ikea Kallax insert with 4 shelves to store my old notebooks. The price of the new insert was the same as the 17-year-old #thinkpad #t400 I bought a few weeks ago. #vintagecomputing

The original wifi card in my #thinkpad #x200 died. It is unfortunate, but at least it puts flashing #canoeboot to the top of my priorities list.

Restoring the #thinkpad #x200 is tricky. furbify.eu sells original, Lenovo branded, 14-year-old 9 cell batteries. The one I received does not charge. According to Furbify support they do not have the laptop itself, so they only do tests with a multimeter.

I installed #guix on my #thinkpad #x200 last week and ordered a new 9 cell battery for it today. My refurbishing project finally takes off.
