I'm fascinated by ruins and decay! But I wouldn't go inside without personal protective equipment. Lead, asbestos, animal waste. It's all within.
The park sits on the site two former hospitals, an old psychiatric hospital opened in the late 19th century, and a veterans' hospital. Both closed decades ago. Now a park, the many buildings are neither dead nor are they fully alive.

This widely circulated container ship photo in the Strait of Hormuz (via @AssociatedPress) gives me pause. Not knowing where it's bound or from, or what is being carried, I must consider all the *stuff* I think I need and the global costs to sustain a consumption lifestyle.

Average bus stop shelter (and sidewalk) around here10 days after a winter storm - big by local standards but not unmanageable. This is Suffolk Transit (Suffolk County #LongIsland #NewYork). The building managers of the abutting property cleared the sidewalk on one side of the property per local codes, but not this side. They're not responsible for the shelter. Will update when story is published.
