You know how Reznor gave "Hurt" to Johnny Cash because his cover of it was basically perfection?
ELO should transfer ownership of "Twilight" to the guys who did the #DaiconIV opening animation. It is so absolutely perfectly and deeply intertwined with the animation that they are inextricably linked.
Believe it or not this is actually really emotional to watch whenever I revisit it. It's just so fluid and grand, and the music... man... just so, so, so good.
I can't even imagine what it was like to see this in person, when it was first shown.

la #daicon covention in #Giappone ha partorito tra il 1981 e l'83 due #cortometraggi che anticiperanno lo sitle dell'animazione giapponese degli anni a venire rappresentando un pietra miliare nell'evoluzione della regia soprattutto del genere fatascientifico (ma non solo). Un gruppo di amatori americani fa il verso (con qualche citazione dotta) alla Daicon con uno stile incredibile che quasi ci fa dimenticare il fatto che sia tutto in 3d! Altro che spiederverse...

Also if you missed it, some people actually remastered the released video from the Laserdisc using the Domesday device (a system that allows to directly digitize the surface of any laserdisc).
@kineko actually scanned the 8mm film release of Daicon III but they were asked by the right holders to suspend re-masterisation efforts, maybe because they're working on their own.
