Vegas odds are 30 to 1 that the useless fuckin' #SCROTUS will hand #KingShart another win, overturning a basic right for the past 165 years. Kinda like the "Trump Immunity" case, and my favorite, the "Democrats-Can't-Take-Bribes-But-Republicans-Can-Accept-Tips" case. The blatant partisanship and hypocrisy of that will live on past us all.

I’m kinda curious to know if given the current state of affairs between the U.S. and Canada (thanks, FOTUS, you silly, really stupid bastard) if the Canadian band Triumph, said to be preparing for a new tour, will include this tune in the set list.

One of the things I’ll always love about my upbringing is my folks provided exposure to different types of music; while they didn’t always particularly care for the rock and roll I’d end up listening to, I wasn’t prevented by them to do so. That said, the evening’s “live” selection on deck, one of those classic album cuts from Christie Hynde and the Pretenders, here with Dave Grohl from a couple years ago at Glastonbury.

In today’s edition of “Live and learn:” when I hear it these days, I’m reminded of the asshole who was my second wife; not long after my oldest boy was KIA in Iraq, she asked me one day when I broke down not long after his funeral “When are you gonna get over him?” We weren’t married when she did that and then the survivor benefits kicked in and all of a sudden, she wanted to get married. Jesus, THAT was a HUGE mistake. Oof da.

From the time I first heard this tune as a kid and my late older brother, probably one of THE biggest Who fans ever (he saw them in concert five times), would play it, I kinda always wondered what prompted Pete Townshend to write such a song, which I also thought is actually one of the better tunes from The Who’s 1965 debut album.
