We then ascended #比叡山 #MtHiei by funicular and aerial tram and visited the #ガーデンミュージアム比叡 #GardenMuseumHiei and #延暦寺 #Enryakuji. We descended by funicular to the east and returned to Kyoto by train. In the evening, we attended a special night viewing at #智積院 #Chishakuin.

Amida exclaimed that he wished to descend Mt Hiei and live in the capital, where he could protect women from evil and misfortune.Because he had not added the byakugō, Ennin ignored the dream and installed the statue in the Jōgyō-dō on Mt Hiei.
