🇫🇷 Souvenirs d'une journée de #trainspotting il y a près de vingt ans à Beetebuerg (Bettembourg) et à Näerzeng (Noertzange) sur la ligne Lëtzebuerg (Luxembourg) - Esch-Uelzecht (Esch-sur-Alzette) - Peteng (Pétange).

Et en cadeau, une leçon de luxembourgeois. 😉

1. Une automotrice Z 2N NG de la SNCF sur un service TER Metrolor en route vers Thionville et Metz (ou Nancy) traverse la gare de Bettembourg.

2. A cette époque, les locomotives diesel GM série 18 (identiques aux HLD 55 de la SNCB/NMBS) assuraient encore de nombreux trains de marchandises. Ici, l'un d'eux au passage à Noertzange.

3. Toujours à Noertzange, une locomotive série 3000 des CFL (identiques aux HLE 13 de la SNCB/NMBS) également en tête d'un train de marchandises. Les 3000 ont disparu en début d'année de la scène ferroviaire et un voyage d'adieu est proposé le 23 juin prochain (Fête nationale).

4. Autre matériel qui a été retiré du service et a entamé une nouvelle carrière en Roumanie, les Z 2000 (quasi identiques aux Z 11500 de la SNCF) dont deux exemplaire ici assurent un train vers Athus en Belgique.

🇬🇧 A few photos of a day #trainspotting almost twenty years ago in Beetebuerg (Bettembourg) and Näerzeng (Noertzange) on the Lëtzebuerg (Luxembourg) - Esch-Uelzecht (Esch-sur-Alzette) - Peteng (Pétange) railway line.

And as a gift, a lesson of Luxembourgish. 😉

1. A SNCF Z 2N NG EMU operating a TER Metrolor service en route to Thionville and Metz (or Nancy) passing without stopping Bettembourg station.

2. At that time, The "GM" Class 18 diesel locomotives (identical to SNCB/NMBS HLD 55) still operated many freight trains. Here, one of them passing through Noertzange.

3. Also in Noertzange, a CFL Class 3000 electric locomotive (identical to SNCB/NMBS HLE 13) also at the head of a freight train. The Class 3000 disappeared from the railway scene at the start of the year and a farewell trip is proposed on June 23 (National Day).

4. Other equipment which was withdrawn from service and began a new career in Romania, the Z 2000 EMUs (almost identical to the SNCF Z 11500), with here two units forming a train to Athus in Belgium.

🇫🇷 Un #traintrackTuesday triple aujourd'hui avec quelques photos du weekend dernier :

1. Une locomotive Vectron de l'opérateur autrichien DPB qui vient s'arrêter juste bien près du banc où j'attends le dernier train de mon voyage vendredi dernier (en retard, what else?) à Bonn-Hbf.

2. Le train étant tellement plein et rempli de soûlards, je suis descendu à l'arrêt suivant, Bonn UN-Campus, pour prendre un autre train (qui aussi en retard mais au moins plus calme!) ce qui m'a donné l'occasion de saisir ce train RB vers Köln-Messe/Deutz opéré par l'opérateur NationalExpress composé de deux automotrices Talent 2 du constructeur Bombardier (ex-Talbot).

3. Samedi, à la fin de la rando, devant l'entrée du "Märchenland", un parc des contes de fées, j'ai pu saisir ces deux Désiro HC de l'opérateur NationalExpress qui exploite les trains RE Koblenz - Oberhausen-Hbf (normalement ils vont à Wesel mais suite à des travaux... sont limités plus en amont).

🇬🇧 a triple #traintrackTuesday for today with photos taken during the weekend :

1. A Vectron locomotive from the Austrian operator DPB which stops just near the bench where I am waiting for the last train of my trip last Friday (late, what else?) in Bonn-Hbf.

2. The train being so full and full of drunks, I got off at the next stop, Bonn UN-Campus, to catch another train (which was also late but at least quieter!) which gave me the opportunity to photograph this RB train to Köln-Messe/Deutz operated by NationalExpress with two Talent 2 EMUs from the manufacturer Bombardier (formerly Talbot).

3. Saturday, at the end of the hike, in front of the entrance to "Märchenland", a fairytale park, I was able to photograph these two Desiro HC from the operator NationalExpress on a RE Koblenz - Oberhausen-Hbf trains (normally they go to Wesel but following engineering works... are limited further upstream).

🇫🇷 Les automotrices Z 2N NG des CFL (Série 2200) subissent actuellement une modernisation extérieure et intérieure et les rames en version d'origine deviennent par conséquent de plus en plus rares. La 2218 en tête d'un très long convoi de trois automotrices dont les deux autres sont modernisées (les 2201 et 2209) partira bientôt comme TER 88739 vers Metz-Ville. Luxembourg-Ville cet après-midi.

🇬🇧 CFL EMUs Class 2200 (Z 2N NG) are undergoing a deep interior refurbishing and get a new livery. The consequence is that the units in original version are disappearing with the time. The 2218 is one of the unit in original outfit and in company of the 2201 and 2209, it will work the 14:39 TER (88739) from Luxembourg to Metz-Ville. Photo taken this afternoon.

🇫🇷 Une photo prise à hauteur de l'ancien Passage à niveau de la rue d'Hastedon (aujourd'hui, un passage sous voies) d'une longue rame de trois desiro (sans doute du rappatriement) pour un train L(ocal) vers Ottignies qui entame la montée vers Rhisnes et ensuite trois vues à mon point photo sur les bords de la Sambre, et de nouveau un train de travaux! 🙂

🇫🇷 Finalement, je me suis tenu à mon programme, reste la dernière partie, la lecture qui viendra après ce message. 🙂

Quelques photos ferroviaires faites lors de déplacements sur le terrain lors de ma formation en 2005 où en quelques jours, nous avions été voir de plus près diverses installations et procédures des réseaux étrangers limitrophes.

La gare de formation de Forest-Voitures est responsable pour les rames qui viennent garer depuis Bruxelles-Midi comme cet EuroNigt "Jan Kiepura" qui très brièvement (deux ans à peine) relia Bruxelles à Varsovie emmené par la locomotive polycourant de la série 16.

A Tournai, nous avions été voir les automotrices AM96 bi-courant (tranche 441-490) qui officient encore de nos jours sur les trains entre Tournai et Lille-Flandres. Ce fut aussi l'occasion de photographier deux diesel 77-78.

Enfin, nous avions été à Maastricht pour voir la procédure de départ des trains aux Pays-Bas et là, c'est un charmant petit locotracteur vert de Nedtrain que j'avais croisé.

🇬🇧 I could make everything I had on my list today, reading comes after I have posted this message. 🙂

During my schooling, we did make a visit at every neighbours networks to see installations and processes in railway operations.

Forest-Voitures/Vorst-Rijtuigen is the yard responsible for all trains ending or starting from Brussels-Midi like the ephemere EuroNight 349 "Jan Kiepura" that joined for a short time Brussels with Warsaw worked by oldtimer Class 16 which was capable of operating under 4 different voltages.

In Tournai, we had a look at the dual voltage EMU Class AM 96 (Nrs. 441-490) which still operating trains to Lille-Flandres in 2025. I also could photograph two Diesel Locomotives Class 77-78.

Finally, we went also to Maastricht to see how trains depart in the Netherlands and I could photograph that nice green shunter from Nedtrain.

1. A la fin de la balade, le sentier longe la voie ferrée, ce qui m'a permis de photographier cette Desiro ML de la SNCB assurant un IC vers Liège via Troisvierges avant qu'il ne s'engage dans le tunnel de Bourscheid. Le château surplombe la vallée.

2. Une autre Desiro assurant l'IC vers Luxembourg que je vais reprendre pour repartir vers la ville.

3. A mon arrivée ce matin, le train RE formé de deux rames KISS, vers Rodange via Luxembourg et Esch-sur-Alzette (la plus longue relation ferrée au Grand-Duché qui relie deux points frontières : Rodange à l'ouest, et Troisvierges au nord en passant par la seconde ville du pays, Esch-sur-Alzette. 4. Réalité quotidienne depuis peu, les nouvelles rames Coradia Stream des CFL viennent désormais régulièrement à Arlon en Belgique sur les services RB comme celle-ci vue à Luxembourg cet après-midi.

1. I could take a photo of this SNCB/NMBS Desiro ML EMU working an IC to Liège as the path is directly next to the track. It is seen by leaving Michelau towards the Bourscheid Tunnel, the Castle offers a unique background.

2. Another Desiro working the IC to Luxembourg I took to go back to the City.

3. By my arrival this morning, I could photograph those two KISS EMUs working the longest service in Luxembourg joining two borders (Troisvierges in the North with Rodande in the West) via Esch-sur-Alzette, the second biggest city of the Grand-Duchy. (Photo in Kautenbach)

4. A reality since a few weeks : the Coradia Stream are now regularly working RB services to Arlon in Belgium as this one seen this afternoon in Luxembourg.

🇫🇷 Dans certains régions, on chasse l'hiver avec de grands feux et on brûle le bonhomme hiver, une vieille tradition.

L'hiver a été sombre et trop humide pour la 8ème saison d'affilée ai-je entendu aux infos...

Pour ma part, je chasse l'hiver avec ces deux vues de trains dans la neige à Luxembourg en janvier 2003.

🇬🇧 In some regions, winter is chased out with great fires where the "Winter-man" is burned. This is a very old tradition.

This winter was also very dark and too much rainy (for the 8th season in a row)... I heard that in the news in Radio.

🇫🇷 Ces derniers jours, j'ai publié quelques photos d'archives de matériel SNCF en gare de Luxembourg aujourd'hui disparus. Voici ici deux photos de matériel DBAG qui officiaient sur le réseau luxembourgeois en 2002/2003.

Les locomotives bi-fréquences de la série 181.2 étaient aptes à circuler tant sous le 15 kV AC de la DB que le 25 kV AC de la SNCF ou des CFL. On les retrouvaient donc logiquement sur les trains internationaux entre l'Allemagne et la France et le Luxembourg. Ainsi le 27 décembre 2002, la 181.215 en tête d'une rame de voitures ex-IR assure le train IC 433 vers Norddeich-Mole via Trier - Koblenz - Köln - Münster - Emden. La 181 tractait le train jusqu'à Koblenz-Hbf où un changement de front avait lieu et aussi un changement de Locomotive (souvent une BR 101).

La seconde photo montre un des autorails VT 628 arborant le logo des CFL (toujours cette question de compensation kilométriques) passant à l'endroit exact où passe la frontière entre le Grand-Duché et l'Allemagne en plein milieu de la Sûre. On peut d'ailleurs remarquer l'écluse électrique séparant les deux tensions par les signaux latéraux et l'aspect des poteaux de caténaire.

🇬🇧 The last days, I posted some SNCF rolling stock operating in Luxembourg. Here are two pictures of DBAG rolling stock operating on CFL tracks in 2002/2003.

Bi-frequence Class 181.2 locomotives were capable of operating under German 15 kV AC or French 25 kV AC and were then used on international services between Germany and France or Luxembourg. On Dec. 27, 2002, Class 181.215 is heading ex-IR carriages as IC 433 to Norddeich-Mole via Trier - Koblenz - Köln - Münster - Emden. The 181.2 will operate up to Koblenz where the train reverse and where another locomotive takes over (mostly a class 101 in those times).

🇫🇷 Deux souvenirs de 2004 lors d'un déplacement dans le cadre d'une journée de formation à Forest-Voitures. Les locomotives séries 16 et 20 ont disparu depuis un bon moment mais en 2004, on les retrouvaient encore en tête de trains P (pour les 16) et d'IC pour les 20.

La 1605 arrive à Bruxelles-Nord avec le train P 7402 en provenance de Welkenraedt en tête d'une rame de voitures M4 non modernisées tandis que la 2016 est en tête d'une rame des toutes récentes (à l'époque) M6 en provenance de Luxembourg avec l'IC 2128.

Die Sonderbemalung

Im Allgemeinen bin ich ja Fan von Loks oder ganzen Zügen mit Sonderbemalung: Sei es der gelbe Thurbo-Zug, der seit Urzeiten auf Radio Top, Tele Top und Top Online aufmerksam macht, die verschiedenen Re 460 mit ihren teilweise wunderprächtigen Sujets oder aber auch „meine Lok 624“, die RhB-Lok, die mehrere Jahre lang mit diversen Portraits – unter anderem auch mit meinem – verziert unterwegs war.

Etwas speziell ist die Güterlok, die vor einer Weile in Winterthur ausserhalb des Bahnhofs stand: Sie bewirbt das Jubiläum „2003-2023 / 20 Jahre HSL-Logistik“.

Ich will ja niemandem zu nahe treten, aber so richtig schön kann ich diese Lok nicht finden. Eher etwas wirr …
