The other day I went to the coast to paint the sea in what I think is a more interesting environment than the beach in Katwijk where I was earlier in July. Because of the tides, I had to come back another day and I used the rest if the time to kind of simplify and solidify the shapes and lines. I am somewhat surprised with how the result reads although a lot of the shapes are more abstracted and pattern like.
