It’s 2026 and I’m running a #BBS like it’s 1991.

(I’ve mentioned #yulbbs on here before, but I finally made some time to write about it with a bit more detail.)

I use #Swift NIO-SSH in a weird way, but… I think #yulbbs was still vulnerable.
*ahem*
```
- .package(url: "https://github.com/apple/swift-nio-ssh.git", from: "0.9.0"),
+ .package(url: "https://github.com/apple/swift-nio-ssh.git", from: "0.14.1"),
```…even the toys need maintenance…
`ssh yulbbs.via.sc` (I really need to write about this thing.)

Today in ADS-B: hot air balloon!
#yulbbs picked this up; a lot of ADS-B aircraft types are misconfigured, but this one is moving slowly and drifting like a balloon. Fun. https://scoat.es/@yulalerts/116850345584294127

The second of the CF-18s leaving CYUL for today's Alouettes game flyover (edit: they were here for last night's game—home opener). #Montreal
You can see them WAY before you can hear them. Also: moving too fast to get my fingers out of the way, I guess.
It makes sense, but pretty bummed that they don't broadcast ADS-B; #yulbbs (`ssh yulbbs.via.sc`) didn't pick them up

Made a couple changes to #adsbbs (and thus #yulbbs ) to:
- @yulalerts only on swarms (3+ new) of military aircraft, not *all* (tired of seeing exercises from Trenton or transports returning from Europe)
- alert on A6 (high performance) aircraft type; my real goal here is to know the CF-18s are taking off from CYUL for local exhibition fly-bys before I only hear them and it's too late to seeThese are both impossible to test as a civilian, so 🤞 they work as designed.

The RPi that runs #yulbbs crashed and wouldn't reconnect early on Thursday (overnight).
This morning I managed to get it running again by playing Apollo 13 and moving devices between USB busses and gently pushing the power supply/consumption until it would init everything safely.
Really bummed that I missed the CF-18s/F-16s escorting the passenger jets on Thursday, though.
