What no one foresaw was the wildly diverse and hyper-competitive fauna of the Wildwood. Soon mercenaries & adventurers were recruited to protect logging crews.
Then folks realized that the monsters were tasty. Shurros became a haven of foodies from across Cheland and the Osenian mainland.

6/366: The Dawn and Midlight Elves fought a war of attrition that spanned literal Ages in the lush and fecund plane of existence known as the Verdance.The war drove their kin among the Dusk Elves to leave the Verdance entirely and migrate to Yewdar.
Now, Dawn and Midlight alike stand upon the brink of extinction as the Verdance is besieged by the insectoid Arthromite armies.
