And the issue, for anyone else who stumbles on this thread, was the 16MHz oscillator circuit (marked X1 on the main board).

So, I've been playing around with a ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition for a bit.

Overall, I feel almost right at home with the X1 Carbon.

I wished I could highlight all the good things, about it, but frankly, it's mostly neck-in-neck with the 14-inch M4 Pro MacBook Pro.

That said, I may as well list out things that either laptops have missing.

What X1 Carbon doesn't have.

- Long battery life
- HDR display
- Smudge-resistant exterior
- Ability to dev for the Apple ecosystem
- Good speakers

Things that the MacBook doesn't have:

- Touch screen
- Screen real estate at the top (it's been replaced by a notch)
- Insanely lightweight (X1 Carbon is less than a kilogram in weight)
- screen folds out 180 degrees

In verità.ero principalmente interessato alla tastiera ma mi è convenuto comperare tutto per una cinquantina di euro... Pare che lX1 funzioni bene..

So I replaced the valve cover on my car's leaky engine a few weekends ago.

I've never done any auto repair work before so it was kind of a daunting job and ended up taking up an entire Friday and Saturday, but I did it!

So far so good and saved ~$1400 (even factoring in time and tools.)

BMWs seem to fall the fuck apart at around 70k miles, and there are still other problems that need to be fixed so... "to be continued" i guess...

Happy New year! 🥳 I have a #X1 #Carbon laptop with a lovely 3840×2400 resolution. It looks amazing most of the time! However, I recently switched to #Wayland and there my #Chrome windows were blurry.

I use a 200% scaling factor (no fractional scaling) in #Gnome. A few days ago I found the cure: if I start Chrome as

then all is good again!
