🧐 Interestingly if I use wormhole-william on my desktop too then I can send and receive files from my android wormhole-william app in my guest user profile too, while previously I could only receive files using the Wormhole William app on android when sending files from wormhole (magic-wormhole) program in my desktop and only could send with the Wormhole app from my android phone to my desktop when I used wormhole (magic-wormhole) on the desktop.
The interesting behavior happens when I use the Wormhole app on my guest user profile on android, just in the other way around it can send file/files and text, but it couldn't receive anything sent from my desktop wormhole (magic-wormhole) only in this case doesn't matter if I use wormhole-william in the desktop to send it still can't receive anything it only errors out.
It's only the case when I use any other user profile then the default user on android, in my default user profile I can use either the wormhole or wormhole-william and on my desktop didn't matter which one of them use either, wormhole (magic-wormhole) or wormhole-william, I still can send from either one of them on my desktop or from the default user profile on my phone and receive in either one of them on my android phone or the same on my desktop.
I think I need to mention the fact that my other guest profile isn't allowed to use the Phone app nor the Contacts app, but I don't think only this small difference can explain why both of the Wormhole apps that I use behaves in this way. There should be other differences between the default user's profile and the guest profile, but whatever it is what it is I will not stop using the guest profile just because of this small inconvenience. 🫤
I want to avoid as much as possible to be constantly distracted all the time with notifications from apps that send a lot and it's just a better to place those apps in a separate user profile that could potentially distract me for hours when I need to do other things, for example Feeder the rss client, Antenapod the pod casting app, PeerTube the official client app for peertube and of course even Moshidon my preferred mastodon client app.
