Sad, another window bird strike at Columbia University right on Broadway near 114th/115th St. I’ve only seen these happen here around once a season but I bet it happens more frequently and they just take them away. Northern Flicker I think.

#PBS #NewsHour has a good piece on all the birds in the US that die from hitting windows (LOTS of birds during migration) and what’s being done in Philadelphia to make buildings safer for birds. Many of these birds have migrated all the way from tropical Central America only to die hitting a lit window at night. Some US institutions are now mandating lights out at night and the installation of bird safe windows.
