The film is meant to be a warning, to not repeat the past, but it's clear that the lesson has not been learned, so while it's a very good and affecting story (with many very lovely moments), it's also incredibly painful to watch. #WhiteBird #WhiteBirdMovie /4 end

I saw #WhiteBird #WhiteBirdMovie earlier this week, and it was a good movie. I hesitate to say that I liked it only because it's a rough subject. The film is set in 1942, during the growing occupation of France by the Nazis. Some continue to believe that it's a temporary state while anti-Semitic sentiments and actions grow, until Nazi soldiers make camp in the small town, recruiting junior Nazi officers at the local school and rounding up Jewish children. /1
