Really, some of you love them? 😅

For me, these “what’s new” tabs are a UX/DX disaster—one that gets so little attention that it seems no one ever thought to at least add some “☑️ Show again next time” checkbox to them (and perhaps a link where to follow updates alternatively, which would be a great opportunity to connect with those who do like to learn more).

I believe it shows here that we don’t pay enough attention to detail—and that that spreads, because every implementation seems to suffer from the same problems. Mindlessly copied, not thoughtfully adopted.

“What's new” could be done a lot better.

* ContextDecorator and AsyncContextDecorator now detect generator functions, coroutine functions, and asynchronous generator functions and keep the context manager open across iteration or await.

Upgraded JIT compiler

Results from pyperformance suite: 8-9% geometric mean performance improvement over the standard CPython interpreter built with all optimisations enabled on x86-64 Linux.

On AArch64 macOS, 12-13% speedup over the tail calling interpreter with all optimisations enabled.

The speedups versus no JIT builds range from roughly 15% slowdown to over 100% speedup on x86-64 Linux and AArch64 macOS.
