Nicht so cool... Wissenschaftlich betrachtet, so Johan Rockström vom Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), wissenschaftlich betrachtet handelt es sich nicht mehr um eine #Klimakrise. Uns steht etwas Größeres bevor: Massensterben, Luftverschmutzung, ein Zusammenbruch des Ökosystems. Die Menschheit ist in Gefahr. Coastal blue carbon ecosystems are valued at over EUR 190 billion/year.
What we do today for our oceans is not enough when we look at their current state, especially, as they are essential for our lives & economies.
We know what to do: restore & protect them better!

It's the best COVID-19 awareness campaign I've seen.
A clear message: We take COVID-19 seriously, it's a threat to our all health.
It's also a powerful demonstration of non-restrictive NPIs.

➡️ Mechanical ventilation
➡️ Air filtration (HEPA filters)
➡️ Air sanitation (UV) -
A circular economy ♻️ has to become the global norm.
We, in the European Union, are huge believers in circularity & it’s because we see the results it yields.
By re-skilling our workforce, we can ensure this transition is inclusive & meaningful for our communities.

With the Annual Meeting in Davos in full swing (which I am not at), I unpacked The Path to 2025 section of WEF's Global Risk Report through the lens of corporate #ESG.
The near-term risks called out were ones that have made headlines and will likely continue to:
🍳Cost-of-living crisis
📉Economic downturn
🚢Geoeconomic warfare
🌪️Climate action hiatus
🤜Societal polarizationThere is a lot for companies to consider in these areas, but leaders should pay attention to their interconnected nature. The confluence could lead to a new polycrisis that they can either deal with on their terms or when it pops up, which may be too late.

Überall hört man laute Kritik am zusätzlichen Flugverkehr des #WEF2023!
Viel schlimmer finde ich: Entscheidungsträger aus Wirtschaft und Politik treffen sich hinter verschlossenen Türen; den Medien sind nur schönfärbende gesellschaftliche Diskussionen zugänglich.
Das ist idealer Nährboden für weitere Verschwörungsmythen rund um Klaus Schwab! Die wären gar nicht nötig, es gibt genug Reales zu kritisieren.
