I'm increasingly thinking that they are right who suggest that wealth accumulation is a sign of poor mental health and maybe even a psychiatric disorder. (Cf those people who hoard newspapers in their homes).
#wealthline could be a diagnostic or at least a reason to investigate further.

  2. @athyHans Agree to disagree... companies are not individuals. They are stockholders. The point where your personal company exceeds the #WealthLine is where it becomes public... Don't over complicated this.

  3. @lednaBM An excellent concept, #WealthLine! I come to the discussion from the perspective of supporting my elderly dad in care. So, his #WealthLine needs to be sufficient to pay for his care. I suppose if he dies leaving enough of his wealth to leave me an inheritance, the #WealthLine as applied to me could then be discussed. I think I'd apply it to myself the same as to my dad, being sufficient to pay for my care in old age. This would be moot if the US provided an old age safety net.

Well, let's start with rules such that no single individual can have a net worth, inclusive of all assets, worth more than the #WealthLine . Tax day would simply be about revealing all your worldly assets, including appreciation of one's held and divesting of whatever one wants to part with that pushes above the #WealthLine !

  5. @dirtyoldtown Ahhh... that's brilliant. #WealthLine it is.... I'll edit the original post. Let's get this party started!

  6. Thanks @pneumaculturist

I think where the #WealthLine should exist is an important conversation, but more importantly, we have to remember that it will be a negotiation. And like any negotiation in political, economic, and social spheres, nobody, I dare say, it will with nobody particularly happy.

    I like this.
I'm wondering where, roughly, we might pitch the #wealthline -I've seen suggestions ranging from a million dollars /pounds /euros to maybe 10 million. I'd welcome a sensible discussion about what might be reasonable and campaignable.

  8. Ok folks.... I'm going to try to create two hashtags.
The #PovertyLine is obvious to everyone. Nobody should fall below the poverty line!
The #WealthLine is the new concept we must push everywhere in media, politics, economics, etc. Nobody should be allowed above the wealth line, Nobody. And, if you're afraid of the #WealthLine , then you're selfish and not really interested in a more equitable and sustainable world.
Let's push this concept, folks. Especially, let's push it on our politicians!
