Avanti are running one direct train per hour to Manchester today (whether that’s normal Sunday service or special Bank Holiday shenanigans, I don’t know, nor do I care) - do we dare hope that WCML will be next on the list for being taken back into public ownership?

Cannot wait until Avanti are stripped of their franchise and WCML is nationalised. They're somehow even worse than Virgin.

From #Scotland 🏴🇬🇧 southwards over the - surprisingly scenic - West Coast Main Line #WCML with #AvantiWestCoast‘s #Class390 #Pendolinos. They haven’t got a proper @diningcar, yet there is a #buffet counter called the “shop” where a wonderful steward is selling food and drinks.
