I am dividing armour into light/medium/heavy using the rules for leather/mail/plate but not the strict definitions. Light armour would be something like gambeson or a jack of plate. Medium, more extensive brigandine, perhaps a corselet and helmet. Plate, well, that's plate.
AC16 doesn't seem that great for plate armour but in #wbfmag hit bonuses are generally pretty low - they're not affected so much by stats, and levels are compressed, level 4 is "heroic".

Does anyone have any decent sources for early/mid Tudor prices of weapons and armour in England? AI slop is a massive issue with web searching now for any sort of historical information - I think maybe that it's connected to teaching material.
This is regarding my #osr #wbfmag Tudoresque setting btw. A penny maps pretty well to a GP in terms of prices for equipment. Prices for armour and complex weapons are famously a joke in these games though (yeah sure plate costs four shillings tuppence).

The price list in #wbfmag is annoyingly metric and tends to be in numbers divisible by 5. Well that's clearly going to have to change. Anything for 5gp will be either a groat or a sixpence.
