Join us for BUDDHIST FIST & TIGER CLAWS (1982) w/ a region-free print https://youtu.be/2s0nKfViFKU (1 hr 22 min).
PS 🚨 IMDB lies: this is NOT available on Tubi. THAT film is Buddhist Fist (1981) by YUEN Woo-ping. Completely different -- and likely better -- movie.
I've found an English-dubbed (thanks very little #VaughanSavidge ) #GodfreyHo movie (don't hate me) with non-Shaw opening credits that'll shatter your eardrums 🎺
You've been warned😂

Attention #comedon shoppers!
Tonight on aisle 7pm PT there will be a special on The Lady Eve from 1947 you won't want miss!
I'll be AWOL from hosting (again), but I wanted to give a special shout out to this film from one of the most interesting filmmakers of Hollywood's studio era. I raved about Preston Sturges back when we showed Sullivan's Travels (about a director trying to make a movie called O Brother, Where Art Thou?) one week, and the Coen Brothers' O Brother, Where Art Thou? the next. But Imma rave again.
Sturges was the first Hollywood screenwriter to make the leap to getting both "written by" and "directed by" credits, giving him an unprecedented amount of control over his films. And he was a genius of the socially-relevant screwball comedy genre. His films create pointed humor out of class conflict, con artists, crooked politicians, and other targets ripe for smart satire. And they are funny as hell.
It stars Henry Fonda and the amazing Barbra Stanwyck (whose four Best Actress nominations without a win were only partially rectified by an honorary Oscar in 1982). Two of the best actors of the era working with one of the best filmmakers equals a classic that is still funny today. Three thumbs up.
Keep an eye on the #comedon hashtag where @greenpepper22 will post links.
