I would rather have a non-open world with more focus on gameplay than GTA with hacking... again.

Alright, then, we did play some Kerbal Space Program today. Well, almost. We hopped in the VAB to replace a main board of a satellite so that we could Hack The World™ and shut off the power grid in South Korea. And now Blume has a cool new memento of our visit? Yay? :blobcatSweats:
We also found out that Blume's clients are many and varied, from Google Nudle to Facebook Invite to the government, so that's who we're going to go after starting next stream.

I'd say we did keep up the pace pretty well today.
We stole a bunker from Prime_Eight and remodelled it to one of our hacker spaces. We pissed off the Russian mafia by messing with a porn director with the alias Jackofski. We blew up some nanomachines. Not necessarily in that order.
Oh, and the graphics card didn't crash today. I'll take that as a good sign.

Anyway. We did a lot of fucking around today. Made things go boom, made bots go “hard-wired”, did a small tour of Nudle's server farm… All in all, quite a lot of things, actually. Even our Driver SF experience paid off.

Welp, finished Watch Dogs 2 some minutes ago, for the third time now.
1st playthrough was back in June 2022 and I think I played on normal diff. I played the game A MONTH after manually installing Arch Linux lol, which is still the same install I use right now.
I only had a Ryzen 3 1300X, a GTX 1050 Ti and 16 gigs of RAM. I was also streaming on Twitch that and at the time. I really wanted to see Ultra Textures back then.

Well, well, well. Looks like we had a run-in with Blume's CEO. In !NViTE CEO Mary Catskill's office. Don't ask.
We also had a bunch of fun with the Quadcopter and Jumper again, especially for that Key Research Data at the end of the stream. To my surprise, after doing some available story missions, a bunch of side missions popped up again, so I've been busying myself with those. It's not even all of them; There are a few Operational Intel markers on the map as well.

Well, another crash later, we're done with today's Watch Dogs 2 stream, too.
We exposed New Dawn's bullshit for what it is, had a bunch of fun with Umeni without them knowing what hit them, and visited Alcatraz! And then did some odds and ends around the map, too. Helping an eKart team from Oakland University, for example.
We'll probably continue with that next time.

Alrighty. Despite one graphics driver crash happening barely 15 minutes in, today's Watch Dogs 2 stream went surprisingly smoothly. I mean, I did attempt to get another armoured transport taken out and failed, again, but other than that, we had a good time!
We had fun with off-brand K.I.T.T. driving it through town and then gave it an explosive ending, played the cops and with the cops, had a few gang shootouts (though we never fired an actual bullet, only taser rounds)… Oh, yeah, we also climbed and sprayed the Golden Gate Bridge!
All in all, there were a lot of fun activities today IMHO :blobcatOwoHappy:

Alright, well, to nobody's surprise, the second game is also about hacking. And being a taxi driver, I guess :nkoWoozy:
We did a lot of “sightseeing”, i.e. driving around town while working on other things, but also got started with the story. From the looks of it, there's a bunch of online content I'm not going to access because I don't like it. But thanks to taxi driving, I can still get money and bot net members followers.
I must admit, I appreciate that the second game is trying to diversify the cast a bit more than the first game. And to get a bit more to the… ideology? lifestyle? of actual hackers, I suppose? I wouldn't know much about that anyway, but it feels more authentic than whatever Aiden had going on :blobcatEyes:

“There's still a bunch of content”, they said. “We've only just started with Act IV”, they said. Well, as it turns out, there wasn't as much content left as I had expected there would be.
Which means we're going to continue with Watch Dogs 2 next time on this stream slot (i.e. Wednesday next week). I'm guessing we'll say hello to ctOS 2.0, which has supposedly spread throughout the entire world by that point.

I loved the games #Watch_Dogs and Watch_Dogs 2 for many reasons. However, I had very mixed feelings about the third entry in the series, #WatchDogsLegion.
One of the reasons was that I felt the game was totally walking back on a lot of the authentically progressive and somewhat leftist writing and art of the previous two games.
In Legion, a shady cryptofash private security company has taken over London by way of corruption and data-driven mass manipulation. We play as the resistance.
However, incredulously, the entire resistance revolves around getting the (then) Queen of England back into office, and reinstating the original Met Police, the cops. Our hard-hitting radical #antifa slogans are the likes of "Have you seen our regent about?".
Back then I rolled my eyes so hard, thinking that if this was real life, there's no way a serious radical anarchist resistance group would suddenly be cheering for the regular cops and the return of literal monarchy.
But now, I have to apologise.
Because now I see American Dems and progressives cheering for the US police and hoping they'll do something against ICE 'agents'. The Black Panther Party marching with LEOs.
Dems cheering that regular cops are 'at least properly trained, unlike ICE', or that ICE under Biden was some kind of righteous humanitarian organisation deporting criminals, has killed my soul several times over.Sorry, Ubisoft. You lot were ahead of your time. You've portrayed liberals perfectly fine.

A friend was criticizing the followers concept in Watch Dogs 2. Folks. That's maybe the most real aspect of the entire game. Followers who willingly install your app of which you don't even hide that it utilizes your phone's computational power... that's a bot net. A very real concept that is used for real crime in the real world right now.
On the other hand, I take suggestions what the "turn nodes" puzzle hacking thing is supposed to be a gamification of.

I finally picked up OG Watch Dogs again. I played Watch Dogs 2 and loved it and then tried Watch Dogs and... did not quite love it as much. Well turns out the tutorial is just lame and afterwards it's like Watch Dogs 2 but darker, only 90% polished and the writing a little worse. That means it's still really cool and fun! Just a good innovative action game with a lot of variety, a freely chosable amount of violence and interesting stealth options that really allow you to be sneaky.
