Někteří z nás měli #Walkman, další si pořídili #Diskman, občas někdo měl i MiniDisk Walkman. Později všichni nosili malý #MP3 přehrávač, 192kbps prý stačilo a každý nějak budoval svou hudební sbírku. 💿
Dnes světu vládne #Spotify a další streamovací služby (o jejich odměnách interpretům raději nemluvme). Z blízkého okolí neznám aktuálně nikoho, kdo byl dál aktivně budoval svoji hudební sbírku (možná jeden/dva fajnšmekři si občas koupí nějaké LP). 🎧
Přitom dnes máme otevřený bezztrátový formát #FLAC (nebo stačí jen 192kbps #OPUS? 🧐), ve kterém se dá hudba koupit. Nechybí ani možnost provozovat vlastní streamovací aplikace typu #Navidrome a maličké přehrávače #DAP jako je například Shanling M0 Pura.
Avšak zdá se, že lidská pohodlnost (a možná i cena) opět zvítězila a vlastní hudební sbírka zůstane již jen okrajovou záležitostí. Ano, #nostalgie asi dělá hodně, ale zajímalo by mě, jak to vnímáte vy?

Sitting in the garden for a little bit again and I thought I’d get out my newer MiniDisc Walkman for a change. 💽 I had to bolt on the AA battery adapter though as the usual battery didn’t seem to charge after a couple of hours.

I am making my long-suffering, oft-neglected long distance girlfriend a present.
Continuing with my tradition of courting her with authentic Gen-X tokens of affection (for instance, once I sent her a couple of my flannels) I have acquired the hardware needed to record for her a real actual genuine mix tape - on cassette - as well as the hardware needed for her to play it back (a walkman and traditional over-the-ear foam headphones).
I bought a few blank 90 minute tapes, so I have some options for what I'm going to put on them. The question now is... do I make her an authentic 1990s-style mix tape with all the songs that I liked in the 1990s, or do I pull from all songs total?
Also also, if you know her and somehow see this, please do not let her know what I'm doing, it's a surprise.

Esta mañana, me ha tocado sacarlo a pasear. Después de muchos años, todavia funciona a la perfección. Quien dijo que el Minidisc es obsoleto? Los nostálgicos tenemos eso. Nos gusta escuchar nuestras grabaciones de hace años. Y esperad, que el Walkman cassette lo tengo en el servicio técnico! Tengo cientos de minidisc y cassettes por escuchar!! Mi sobrino dice que soy un prehistórico! Jajajaj

He madrugado un domingo sin quererlo así que me he ido al rastro.
Como siempre mucha basura a precio alto para que negocies pero eso no se me da bien así que cuando he preguntado por un MP3 Walkman y me han dicho 3€ lo he comprado sin pensar xD Por suerte tengo ese cable y al enchufarlo funciona.

Sure I could just blast the tunes from my phone or laptop through ye olde #Denon, via a Bluetooth adapter, but why would I do that when I can get the 'clunk-click' satisfaction of the legendary #Sony #minidisc #walkman! All 00's tunes currently getting transferred to minidisc, as it should be. Is it just me who feels like a quick draw cowboy when I eject a minidisc? 🤠 #retro #retrotech

No, I don't really listen to music from my desktops. Was lucky to get a #walkman in the early 80s, and still prefer portable devices and listening to albums from beginning to end =) -
In use, right now. Yes, I mostly use it to digitise old cassette tapes, but it does have batteries and a headphone socket, and I used it this very morning to listen to a demo tape from the early 90s while making my tea. Hi @axemonkey!

I’m extremely happy to share that I finally have a Unicorn. The Sony TPS-L2 has been on my list for years. And yes before Guardians of the Galaxy. This was a gift from a friend who was able to get one for a 10th of what they go for on eBay and extremely thoughtful. You know who you are and thank you so very much!
No idea if it works. I plan on buying a belt and a pinch roller for it. It does have come corrosion in the battery tray but I don’t think it got to the PCB.
Honestly even if it doesn’t work I don’t care. This is going in a glass case. When I got it I felt like I should have been wearing white gloves haha.
