I’m extremely happy to share that I finally have a Unicorn. The Sony TPS-L2 has been on my list for years. And yes before Guardians of the Galaxy. This was a gift from a friend who was able to get one for a 10th of what they go for on eBay and extremely thoughtful. You know who you are and thank you so very much!
No idea if it works. I plan on buying a belt and a pinch roller for it. It does have come corrosion in the battery tray but I don’t think it got to the PCB.
Honestly even if it doesn’t work I don’t care. This is going in a glass case. When I got it I felt like I should have been wearing white gloves haha.

Found my late grandfather's #cassette #walkman in its original packaging, seemingly unused. It feels very flimsy (especially the headphones) so I'd automatically assumed it would have been manufactured during the decline phase of cassettes. But surprisingly, it's made in 1986.
It plays way too slow and the audio jack is terrible. I have two good working walkmen, but it hurts seeing this one in bad shape so I'll attempt to fix it.

Wow got a Radio Shack nostalgia bomb with this old Realistic AM radio and period 9V battery. Also awesome little Sony Walkman. I think it’s a WM-41. Thankfully the Walkman didn’t have any batteries in it and the 9V didn’t leak. They usually don’t leak but they can. Found these while my housemate and I were doing some organization in the garage and he was kind enough to give these to me.
