Saw this in a repo somebody spun up containing source code of Apple's new web-based App Store.
Maybe they're being snarky, but you shouldn't take this advice to heart! Always ship sourcemaps in production! Always!

Rem when you used to just "view source" and figure it out?
For me at least. That's how I #learn. I don't need all of the "blog author's commentary" in between.

Not for nothing, Hypercard presaged the web's critical "#ViewSource" affordance, which allowed people to copy, modify, customize and improve on the things that they found delightful or useful; this affordance was later adapted by other human-centered projects like #Scratch, and is a powerful tonic against #enshittification.

I don't think "people" ever had the Internet I remember.
Those who did are a very small group in relative terms, although in absolute terms their numbers have monotonically grown (I think).
But the ideal of Internet for the vast majority of people was never realized. Most first had no access outside a few institutions, then early versions of corporate gardens I loathed then and loathe now, whose owners were moved to broaden and now moved to narrow what they'll permit people to do.
