Another interesting work that will be on Public Domain in a few hours is "Vidas Secas", a book originally written in Brazilian Portuguese, that is written in a cyclical manner, making it possible to read the first chapter as a continuation of the last chapter, reflecting the cycle of poverty and desolation in the Sertão (the "hinterland" or "backcountry" of Brazil).
