  1. @Dave42W yes, in a large poorly-insulated home you don't have many options but to reduce temperatures as far as you safely can. But there is a point at which asking a boiler to give short periods of high output is less efficient than trickling heat at a low temperature. It's complicated, and every home is different.

    I'm thankful to be using around a fifth of what I consumed in the 1950s #vicarage that I left. (And around 10% of the huge Victorian vicarage of a previous parish).
