F4GXS a fait une vidéo sur les réceptions des Perséides via le radar de Grave. Le radar de Grave envoie un signal à 143.050MHz en l'air, et on entend les réflexions des météores avec les effets Doppler. C'est une compilation des ses réceptions. Ces "Ping" sont un peu plus rares IRL, mais c'est exactement ce qu'on peut entendre.
Un talkie-walkie #UVK5 avec le bon firmware peut faire de la réception USB. -

Was given an extra, so I pulled it open to see how this particular one was made.
Interesting to see a PCB instead of just a cap.

My #Quansheng UVK5 (99) arived today. for some reason, even if i set the voice to english, it does not talk, only beeping. and, menu options are up to 49 only. anyone knows the sulusion to make this talk? #DY1AJD #Blind #BlindHam #Radio #AmateurRadio #HamRadio #UVK5

J'ai un peu étudié mon #UVK5 , car en CW j'ai une porteuse résiduelle en émission assez forte entre les symboles. C'est le BK4819 qui continue d'émettre, et qui garde certaines polarités des transistors de sortie durant une bonne seconde. GPIO1 en est responsable. Pour résoudre le soucis, j'utilise la commande de la led GPIO5 pour la mettre sur BK4819_GPIO1 (et couper la piste GPIO1). Ça a vraiment atténué le signal indésirable d'au moins 40dB (je ne peux plus le mesurer). #HamRadio

10m/6m/2m/70cm Quadband with 0.5 - 1160MHz wide receive. AMF/FM/SSB receive and likely only FM TX, like usual.
Also 6m/2m/70cm tribander with the same wide RX.
Sadly no #23cm even on receive.
Will be interesting to see what price point these end up on.

Je voudrais faire de la CW avec le #UVK5 . Mais ça ne me plaît pas : il y a une porteuse résiduelle entre mes traits et points qui restent en TX QRP une bonne seconde jusqu'à que le poste passe en réception. C'est très gênant pour le correspondant de recevoir mon Morse. J'ai essayé de moduler les polarisations de transistor pour faire du vrai tout ou rien. Malheureusement l'isolation n'est pas suffisante. #HamRadio

Woohoo! The pair of Quansheng UV-K5(8) ham radios that I ordered have arrived! Already got one for "normal" use, so these two are going to become a crossband repeater (UHF/VHF) so that I can get on a nearby local repeater without hovering by my window like a weirdo.

My buddy Kevin gave me a #Realistic #DX440 in exchange for a #Quansheng #UVK5 radio. Was able to get the Denver Atomic clock no problem.

So, if I am not mistaken, there are basically two firmwares for the #quansheng #UVK5 which can #TX on simulated #SSB: KD8CEC's uvk5cec and IU0IJV's IJV. In the last case, I did contact IU0IJV to ask him (he said, long ago, that he might release it when he completed the development). Both of them have released binaries with this capability but no source code for them. This is quite unfortunate. What's the deal with developing and not showing? Are they engaging in business with #Quansheng ?

Took my Quansheng on an activation this morning. Made an 80 mile contact on FM, then we switched to SSB. Good reports both ways, in both modes.
And I was able to send a few APRS packets, that were successfully received!Highly recommend you get a Quansheng UV-K5 for yourself!

Here is an update for the special #UVK5 firmware I've been working on supporting #hamradio digital modes (flat response) to fix an issue with frequency drift caused by varying DC bias on the BK4819's MIC line.

I'm glad I bought a Quansheng UV-K5. I put the uvk5cec firmware on it, and it's been tons of fun this weekend making weak signal and FM "quantacts" while out and about.

Не перестаю удивляться тому, что могут сделать энтузиасты мотивированные исключительно интересом и любовью к своему делу.
Установил на один из своих #Quansheng #uvk5 прошивку версии 0.3D разработчика KD8CEC. Сказать что я в восторге, не чего не сказать.
#sstv #aprs #wspr #cw анализатор эфира с всплесками и бегущим водопадом и это далеко не всё.
Разумеется что проект ещё сырой, но это очень впечатляет. Кроме того многие настройки которых раньше не было, теперь доступны.

Any one know how to make a backup of the firmware (not the configuration) on the Quansheng UV-K6 series of radios?
I'm bought a UV-K5(99) which I think has custom firmware on it. Maybe from the seller, it doesn't quite work (a couple of weird glitches)- but it would be nice to know what it was based on before I flash an official firmware to it. And have the original firmware as a backup.I'm also curious about the UV-5R Plus firmware

One cannot simply own a single #Quansheng #UVK5 #HamRadio At least the light works on this one, and it doesn't broadcast whenever you set it on the table. Also, I hope you appreciate how hard it was to take this photo with them all lit up at the same time.

Für das Quansheng UV-K5 gibt es inzwischen eine ganze Reihe modifizierter Firmwareversionen. Einige sind irgendwie eingeschlafen, andere aus dem Netz verschwunden.
Die Mod von Egzumer scheint aktuell die Beste mit hinreichend intuitiver Bedienung, einem großem Funktionsumfang und mit Spektrumanalysator zu sein. Die aktuelle Version ist die v0.22 und lässt sich auch bequem über den Browser flashen.
