Good news from the US Repository Network (#USRN):

After just over a year of the pilot, all but one repositories are now OAI-PMH compliant. This has resulted in a 50% increase in indexed content, with 728,770 new records now publicly accessible."

The U.S. Repository Network (#USRN) just released its guidelines on Desirable Characteristics of Digital Publication #Repositories.

"* Draft desirable characteristics and best practices to support #OSTP requirements for #repositories providing public access to fed funded research.
* Share USRN’s desirable characteristics of publication repositories with OSTP…and fed funding agencies.
* Advocate for…the desirable characteristics and the inclusion of the distributed repository network in the implementation of public access guidance."
