CW: Solution Architecture, User Stories & Design Patterns
I've been to many of these meetings with the manager who, with exhausted eyes connected to their tired non-technical brain, looks at the architects with the "this is a you problem"-look and dismisses the whole idea. #SolutionArchitecture #UserStories #DesignPatterns

The best user story is the one that starts a conversation, not the one that ends it.
15 acceptance criteria? That's not a story. That's a contract. Zero context? That's not a story. That's a wish.
A story should carry just enough info to make the team ask the right questions.
Less text, more talk.

User Stories are not documentation. They're conversation starters.
If your team only reads the story and does not talk about it, you've already failed.
"As a user I want..." is not a spec. It's an invitation to ask: Why? For whom? What's the real problem?
Stop perfecting stories. Start having conversations.

As a keyboard only user, I would like to be able to navigate a page using shortcuts like screenreaders. Jump to headlines, use the rotor menu etc.

🤣 Oh, look! Someone in 2025 finally discovered #AI can do more than just play chess and recommend cat videos. Congrats on turning the tedious user story conversion into a slightly less tedious process. 🚀 Just as revolutionary as reinventing the wheel—but this time with extra #buzzwords. 🎉

The #DIF #poster at #CoRDI2025 is conveniently located. Two other posters of @dalia are on the second floor too. Have a cup of tea or coffee, and discuss our #metadataschema and #ControlledVocabularies at this poster. Or learn about #usecases and #userstories (poster 167) or #trustedResearchEnvironment (poster 172).

We are always curious to learn more our users and their fascinating stories. How did they find us and how do they use our software? We already told you some of these user stories in our newsletter, now we have also published them here on our blog so that you can easily find them. #devonthink #devonthinktogo #pkm #users #userstories #userportraits https://buff.ly/3RmrPTM

#userstories are not #requirements.
#requirements are not #userstories.
If it would be that easy, we wouldn't need #businessanalysis or #requirementsengineering or #agile.

Our team is supposed to review the #UserStories created by the Business Analyst of another contractor. The crap that they're producing is incredible. They're describing at least 3 different user flows in a single US. They're making circular references (grade=grade/maximum score). They're adding
My review of this single story is 1809 words. 1809! to describe all that they need to correct & address in their story of 1100 words!

Sometimes I find a Q&A question that's so interesting that I can't help but turn it into a mini thesis. Today someone asked *why* certain #userstories are called "story spikes," and I wanted to help people visualize the metaphor in various ways rather than simply making an appeal to authority based on the available historical record of modern #agile practices.
